Hello

Yes, I have been reading through Job, and considering his state of mind in the face of all the difficult experiences he had to face, both physically, mentally, and spiritually. Job did not know what we know as readers, the reason he was undergoing such trial, he only knew that he was grieving, and in great physical discomfort, while having to listen to friends who, though well intentioned, believed him to have, in some way, brought all of his troubles upon himself, by sinning in some way against God. How desperate he was to simply die, and find peace, and even his wife told him to curse God and die, for that seemed to be the only way out for him. Yet he endured, and sought a Daysman, who would stand between him and God, and plead his cause. Which role Elihu filled. But finally God spoke to Job, and Job came to realise that though he was perfect before God morally, he was incapable of attaining to the righteousness that only God could provide, and so he repented and received the righteousness of God which is by faith. The goal of God was achieved, and all was restored to Job as it had been, and more. Praise God!
'Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
I know that Thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from Thee.
Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge?
therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.
Hear, I beseech Thee, and I will speak: I will demand of Thee, and declare Thou unto me.
I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth Thee.
Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.'
(Job 42:1-6)
