Most of the world thinks that believing in Jesus Christ is only for uneducated weak-minded people who are not smart. Some in the Church think that believing is based on intellectual logical thinking! If believing in the Word of God was based on how intellectually smart you are, then only the highly educated would be believers!!
The fact is, Jesus came for the downtrodden, the cast down of this world who are not educated, and who are despised according to the standards of this world!
1Co 1:26 For [simply] consider your own call, brethren; NOT MANY [OF YOU WERE CONSIDERED TO BE] WISE ACCORDING TO HUMAN ESTIMATES AND STANDARDS, not many influential and powerful, not many of high and noble birth.
1Co 1:27 [No] for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame.
1Co 1:28 And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is lowborn and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are,
1Co 1:29 SO THAT NO MORTAL MAN SHOULD [HAVE PRETENSE FOR GLORYING AND] BOAST IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD. (AMP)
The whole purpose why God chose it to be that way is because of verse 29.....”So that no mortal man should [have pretense for glorying and] boast in the presence of God. (AMP)
No amount of human effort will stand in God's presence because of what he has done or learned on his own!!
I have been saying the same thing for over forty+ years, and that is.......
“the scriptures do NOT say what we say it says when we read them, the scriptures only say what God says it says when he is teaching us.!!
The biggest enemy to God's Word is logical analytical thinking based on human tradition and teachings!
Col 2:8 See to it that no one carries you off as spoil or makes you yourselves captive BY HIS SO-CALLED PHILOSOPHY AND INTELLECTUALISM and vain deceit (idle fancies and plain nonsense), FOLLOWING HUMAN TRADITION (men's ideas of the material rather than the spiritual world), just crude notions FOLLOWING THE RUDIMENTARY AND ELEMENTAL TEACHINGS OF THE UNIVERSE and DISREGARDING [THE TEACHINGS OF] CHRIST (the Messiah). Col 2:8 Don't let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense THAT COME FROM HUMAN THINKING and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.(NLT)
Every human being whether they are a Christian or not has a “natural” man which is made up of his physical body, along it's logical fleshly brain in our head.
The fleshly logical mind is an enemy of God because it can not, nor will it accept things of the Spirit of God!!!
1Co 2:14 But the NATURAL MAN RECEIVETH NOT THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD: for THEY ARE FOOLISHNESS UNTO HIM: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Rom 8:6 FOR TO BE CARNALLY MINDED IS DEATH, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (KJV)
Romans 8:7 [That is] because THE MIND OF THE FLESH [WITH ITS CARNAL THOUGHTS AND PURPOSES] IS HOSTILE TO GOD, for it does not submit itself to God's Law; indeed it cannot. (AMP)
You can not change a fleshly mind into a “spiritual” mind, but it can be “transformed” to come into agreement with the mind of Christ which is our spiritual mind in our hearts!!
Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:17 For THE FLESH LUSTETH AGAINST THE SPIRIT AND THE SPIRIT AGAINST THE FLESH: and these are contrary the one to the other: SO THAT YE CANNOT DO THE THINGS THAT YE WOULD.
When the fleshly mind is lusting against the spiritual mind you can not do the things you want. This I why the fleshly mind needs to be transformed and renewed by the Word of God so it is no longer at odds against the mind of Christ in our heart!!
Jesus always used, “MONOSYLLABIC” words that were easy to understand, because most if not all of the people he talked to were uneducated. The uneducated understood his words because they chose to, and Jesus rejoiced because that was his father's work!!
Mat 11:25 At that time Jesus began to say, I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth [and I acknowledge openly and joyfully to Your honor], that YOU HAVE HIDDEN THESE THINGS FROM THE WISE AND CLEVER AND LEARNED, and REVEALED THEM TO BABIES [TO THE CHILDISH, UNTAUGHT, AND UNSKILLED].
Mat 11:26 YES, FATHER, [I PRAISE YOU THAT] SUCH WAS YOUR GRACIOUS WILL AND GOOD PLEASURE. (AMP)
The highly educated, logical analytical thinking persons are more “UNWILLING” to accept the things coming from the Spirit of God because it does not make any logical analogical sense. This is the enemy of God, yet the uneducated, unlearned are more willing to accept them because they have made the decision to believe them so God gave them understanding (which is Wisdom) to know his will!!
John 7:16 So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.
John 7:17 IF ANYONE'S WILL IS TO DO GOD'S WILL, HE WILL KNOW whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.
Notice: A decision must be made “first” to “will” to do God's will before knowing is given to that person!
You do not have to be smart, educated or anything, just willing to do what is told to you!!
Believing (faith) is the easiest thing in the world to get once you first make the decision to be willing to do what God says before he says it!!!
