I'd like to share a few thoughts from a heavy session at church today. We were lead through Jesus' journey to the cross. It was a journey full of revelation for me, though in part emotionally draining but got me thinking of Gods love for us.

Jesus judged - I thought of how cruel we can be and how quick we are to accuse others. I put myself in that crowd scared to stand out maybe knowing in my heart things were wrong but going with the mob. I'd like to think I'd stand up but I'm pretty sure I'd have gone along with the mob.

Carrying our sins - that heavy cross knowing He was carrying it to an end which meant His death. How heavy must it have been? I think of how hard it must have been as a feat in itself knowing He was about to have a slow and painful death. How did He carry that cross at all?

Totally amazed at Jesus
Thank you

Amen sister praise Jesus!

What amazes me, one of many things the Lord has done for us, is the fact that our Savior, the Son of GOD and GOD Himself left His throne in Heaven where no sin exists to come down (humbling Himself) to the form of a man - and the painful excruciating death He knew He would face!

That's love!

Wow absolutely

Undeniably amazing love

Hello dear friends,

Your words of praise to our Lord I cannot duplicate. All I can do is sing:

Oh How He loves you and me,
Oh How He loves you and me,
He gave His life, what more could He give?
Oh how He loves you, Oh how He loves me,
Oh how He loves you and me.

Jesus to Calvary did go,
His love for mankind to show;
What He did there brought hope from despair
Oh how He loves you, Oh how He loves me,
Oh how He loves you and me.

He is so worthy of praise & honour if I had more to give, I give that as well.

I just watched for the first time The Passion movie. And it just blew me away, it was very intense, emotional and powerful. Everything that Jesus went through for us. And Just like you said Sleepy, that cross after enduring unbearable cruelty and torture, He still had to carry the heavy Cross knowing He was to endure more agony and eventually death.

His love for us is amazing, it is beyond comprehension.

Love Calluna

It's amazing to think, when Jesus looked out across that crowd, He saw our faces as well. Every face; past, present and future. He knew and loved each one of us enough to bear that cross, pain and death. That's powerful!

Amen!

You know Easter weekend was such a powerful event for me this year. I was always watching reenactment after another on Jesus and the pain He felt while He was beaten and then made to carry His cross. The one thing that stood up in my mind is how lonely He must have felt when He had to carry His cross alone. I kept thinking to myself that He went through all of this to be an example to us. He knows how it feels to be in pain. He knows how it feels to be wrongly persecuted. He knows how it feels to be betrayed. He knows how it feels to carry that heavy cross by yourself. No wonder, we can all honestly say that He loved us enough to go through those things, so that we would never have to experience that kind of pain, because He knows exactley how it feels. At our Easter service at church Sunday, the choir was singing this song about someone being lonely in the world, (can't remember the words or even the title), but while they were singing, there was a guy that was painting a picture beside the choir. He started his painting with a dark orange red colored sun. Then he added the three crosses, one bent down towards the ground. The choir is still singing, because what they are singing goes with his painting. All of a sudden, he takes the black paint and at first it looked like black tree branches with blood trickling from it. You're sitting in the audience thinking, wow, this must be a painting of when it was dark after they had killed Jesus. As the song is finishing up and he comes back to the other side where he painted the crosses, you see a face. He intermingles the whole painting together and just as the choir finishes, he has painted the face of Jesus, eyes cast down, with tears falling from them. His crown of thorns and blood tricking from them. Immediately tears began to fall down my face. I wished that everyone could have seen it.

Glory to God!!! We should never stop being amazed by his giving of himself and the grace he so freely offers!!!
