Whoever is steadfast in righteousness will live, but he who pursues evil will die. Proverbs 11:19 ESV
If you ever needed a practical reason to trade your sin for forgiveness, turn your back on your past for new-life living, and discover trust where suspicion used to live, then there is good news just waiting to be read.
Choose new life and really live (Ephesians 4:22-24). Follow the path leading away from God and instead experience death (Romans 6:23). It would probably help to understand that when God speaks about life, He’s speaking about eternity after your body dies. When God describes life for the Christian, it is being with Him for eternity. When He describes death it is a place where you are separated from Him forever.
In practical terms, accepting God’s rescue plan means never being separated from Him. An even greater reason to invite change is that you discover in the present what it’s like to be a child of God. You gain His wisdom, discover His plan, experience His love, receive His forgiveness, and find a deep well of grace. And it’s all yours.
There’s no reason to wait (again, see Ephesians 4:22-24). There’s no other answer (John 14:6). Tomorrow is never promised (James 4:14).
Prayer: Dear God, a decision for You gives my present power because my future is taken care of. Why should I keep silent about this wonderful gift of life?
