Hey guys! I need some advice on family preventing you from going to church. So, I am currently online schooling and I am behind on my work due to babysitting my 2 year old baby sister and having little motivation because of my mental health. My parents have now restricted me from doing anything including going to church. This has really upset me because they treat church like it is a reward for finishing work when in fact its part of a christian lifestyle, I have been feeling my depression and anxiety increase and I feel going would help me so much. I am not sure what to do because the ten commandments say honor thy mother and thy father so I hate being disrespectful but I am so tired and frustrated of not being able to go and worship my king, read the word, and talk to other christians. I have no idea what to do next and feel so unhappy and unmotivated and everyday not going makes it worse it's only one time a week and I feel like that shouldn't be such a big deal. I feel like going that one time and week would jumpstart my motivation and mental health but everytime I talk about it will my mom she starts to yell and gets upset. I've been contemplating asking my pastor for help because maybe she would change her mind, but i'm not sure. I feel like my journey isn't growing without going to youth, meeting new people, getting taught the lessons the pastor has, etc.. without fulfilling the duties on a christian which one of them is going to church. ANY ADVICE AND HELP IS HIGHLY APPRECIATED THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!

You're grounded until you have caught up with your school work?

If that's the case, surely the simplest solution is to catch up with your work.

Once you've done that you can calmly explain to your parents that you consider their approach to the situation unfair and damaging.

I wouldn't be so sure that their approach is unfair or damaging.

Contrary actually, see, our Lord teaches us discipline and uprightness. In other words, we are being taught principle and to be principled and if we are reprobate to be not so (by His permanent solution--His Spirit, which we receive through His everlasting Word).

I have been of a reprobate mind for 29 years (I am 29 now), so I have learned a great deal of lessons through many woes.

Friend,

Depression, anxiety, motivation:

When your spirit tells you:
I am anxious
I am worried
I am unmotivated
I am depressed
I am negatives

Tell your spirit:
I am not anxious
I am not worried
I am not unmotivated
I am not depressed
I am not negatives

You must speak "The Truth" Thy Word is "The Truth" "You cannot conquer the enemy with lies" . For he will use "Truth" against you, to lead you into "LIES".

(2 Cor. 4).
8We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. 11For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. 12So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

13We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; 14Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. 15For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

16For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen areeternal.

We are to experience The Fellowship of The suffering of Jesus Christ" and count it as joy. You embrace it. "No cross, no crown"! "Let no one, rob you of your suffering in "Christ Jesus". and "Consider it not, strange"

( 1 Peter 4).
12Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. 16Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 17For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 19Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

I true Christians has "battle wounds" from the enemy and "Scars" from The Father!

6For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, And scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

7It is for chastening that ye endure; God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father chasteneth not? 8But if ye are without chastening, whereof all have been made partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

And there will be many days like this and not a few. That is why we need a "Comforter" to dwell within us. It can only take a GOD to comfort those type wounds that we receive!.

(John 14). ASV

15If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments.

16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever, 17even the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot [has not the ability to] receive; for it beholdeth him not, neither knoweth him: ye know him; for he abideth with you, and shall be in you.

So i say this : Rejoice when they lock you Up, and when they place Barriers upon YOU, when they lay scars upon YOUR back, Rejoice, consider it JOY! They cannot stop The Worship of GOD in you! For you are The "TEMPLE" of The LIVING GOD! Tell that devil that this is true ,because GOD said so, And that I am a big enough of "A Fool" to believe it, FOR I AM A FOOL FOR JESUS!

There are virtual church services now.

There are hundreds of audio online commentaries for free.

Its probably safer now not to goto church because of covid but you can attend zoom meetings virtually.

Even if you don't agree with everything online, you don't have to buy in to everything but you can learn.
