For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
Can you trust that God has wonderful plans for you--that He desires to give you a future and a hope? It would seem that everyone would embrace such a promise, but many find it difficult to do so. They're focused on the world's problems--pollution, poverty, economic crises, and weather gone wild--and think it's too late for hope.
If you read only the dismal headlines, it's easy to get a negative mind-set. Things are becoming more difficult. But in the midst of all this, God holds out a promise of hope…if you have the faith to receive it. He also says, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world" (John 16:33 KJV).
When Jeremiah prophesied hope, the Jews also had little reason to have any. God was still punishing them for their sins. But He wanted His people to look beyond the present and trust Him for a wonderful future. He wants you to do the same.
Prayer: Lord, the days ahead look bleak now, but help me to trust You that You have a wonderful future planned for me and my family.
