Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
It's easy to worry when you have legitimate concerns. You know that if something isn't done to fix a situation, things will quickly get out of hand and become a crisis. But often things are beyond your control, and there's little or nothing you can do to influence the outcome. So what do you do? If you're like most people, you worry.
But God has a higher way, and tells you to praise Him and pray. You must talk to someone about your concerns, so talk to God. Tell Him what's on your heart. If you trust the Lord and commit your concerns to Him, "the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7 NKJV).
You may have to bring your concerns to God often, since they have a way of wrestling out of your grasp and reasserting themselves as a worry. You may have to bring them to God several times a day.
Prayer: Dear God, help me not to worry. I slip into the habit so easily. So help me to rule my thoughts and determinedly give them into Your care. May Your peace come upon me, I pray.
