To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in You; Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies triumph over me. Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause. Psalm 25:1-3 NKJV

While it’s not certain when David wrote Psalm 25, the biblical record makes it clear that he faced much trouble in his life—both before and after he took the throne as king of Israel. This psalm tells us that David had learned the importance of trusting God during difficult times. He knew that “Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed”.

Even our most trustworthy friends can let us down, often through no fault of their own. People sometimes find themselves going through difficulties of their own and are therefore not in a place where we can fully trust them for help in times of trouble.

But it’s not like that with our Father in heaven. He is in complete control of all things, and He can never be too troubled to come to our rescue. So put your complete trust in the Lord. He will never put you to shame.

Prayer: Lord God, I am heartened and strengthened to know that when I choose to trust You, You will never let me down or allow this world or my enemies to win out over me. Thank You for being such a trustworthy heavenly Father.
