How often predictions are proven wrong. Economists prophesy growth, but output falls. Sportswriters back a team for the championship, but it finishes down the standings. The forecasters miss today’s actual weather by a country mile.
Isn’t it great to serve a God who truly knows the future?
Really, it’s only future to us. As the timeless Creator of time, God is above and beyond all physical restraints. He sees the entire picture at once, so He can bat a thousand on His predictions—like the one He shared through Moses in today’s scripture.
As Moses readied the Israelites to enter Canaan, he said God would one day provide another prophet like himself. God then elaborated, saying, “I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him. I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name” (Deuteronomy 18:18-19).
Who is this? Clearly Jesus, as the early Christian leaders Peter and Stephen confirmed (Acts 3, 7).
God makes His plans, then makes His plans known, then makes His plans come to pass. With that kind of God, we have no reason for fear.
Prayer: Lord, I praise You for Your power and knowledge. Give me the confidence to believe everything You say.
