Valentine's Day Box

Many of us who post in the "Soulmate" are looking for that significant other. For me I was looking and am still waiting for mine, but I know who he is! Yesterday I did something so strange, but it helps me in my waiting process! So I figured I would share this with anyone who reads this, cause I know it is and will help me when I get discouraged !

I went to wal-mart and bought a picture box. I named it my "husband box", and what it is for is just that! I am going to write letters to my husband, and little notes, cards (I bought a v-day card yesterday), and anything that would make me think of who I am going to marry. Then, on my wedding day or night or whatever, I'm going to give it to him to read and go through!!! Now, for me, I know already who I am going to marry, so if you don't know, just put stuff in it that touches your heart or makes you happy, or whatever you wish. It's really great!

Gosh, I am so excited cause it gives me hope and patience when I think about it! Hope that there is someone out there for me, and patience to wait for the "him" that God has already promised!

Just thought I'd share a little something hoping it will make someone's day a little brighter!

That is beautiful, Inrobar. That is awesome; I like that alot.

I remember....a number of years ago....I wrote down a list of what I wanted in a husband (I was divorced and lonely at the time.)

I wrote things like "loves the Lord with all his heart", and "makes me laugh"
and "loves to attend church", and many more specific things and filled up about 3 pages.

One day, when I was dating my present husband I got really brave and showed him the list. He read it really, really carefully and thanked me for showing it to him.

A few weeks later he asked me to marry him.

That a great idea Inrobar! Before my fiance and I were geographically together (very long story), I used to write him many letters and I would keep them in a box.

When I saw him, I gave him the box that was full of letters, drawings, and little ornaments.

It is a great way to fight discouragement.

Thank you both, and this has really helped me in keeping focused, and not to stray off to unequally yolked people. I was pretty much almost at the point to where I got so discouraged seeing people together, and me as always with no one! Course deep down I know I would NEVER let myself be with someone unequally yolked, but I was considering it, and that is bad enough. Then God told me who was my "other" and I'm glad He told me when He did, cause I was starting a new job and there are several guys that I work with that probably would have had a strong influence on me, and I would have been intimidated by them because of their sexual nature.
So now I know who my "other half" is and I have this box to keep me on track. I mean it helps a whole whole lot!

That's a great idea Inrobar. I know it's not always easy waiting but sometimes that kind of thing can help. For me though I prefer not to think about it cause the more I do the more discouraged I get about falling in love and if it will ever happen for me etc.
I have a friend who has a journal she writes in for her future husband and that seems to be just what she needs so it depends I guess.

Inrobar!!! I simply loved your idea!!! I made something similar a cupple of years ago but it wasn't with this intention. But the idea's sooo good!

You know, I agree that it really helps a lot to encourage you in the waiting time. I know it's not my time for me to find the man of my dreams, but when the time comes I wanna be so ready for him.
I get really excited too, as you do dear sis Inrobar... The last month I started to write about my future husband. I started to write down how I would love him to be, everything I like, everything I want. That also helps you a lot for waiting and to know better what do you exactly look for in a husband.

ohh! now I feel so excited about it!! I wanna start just now! thank you Inrobar!!!
I was getting really unpacient, but now I feel much better now.

Anybody got an extra box

I have never (not even for a moment) thought of that.

Anybody got an extra box cause i think i am just going to start my own ha he he he!!!!and i think when we finally meet and he gets to read all that stuff,he will see the transformation that i would have gone through,from one letter to another.
