how do you know when God has the right person for you? I know we should wait patiently on God, just like Ruth waited for Boaz. But, how did Boaz know Ruth was The one? how do we know specifically if the person next to us is The one?

If we are listening with the "ears to hear" (not natural ears) to what thus saith the Lord we will "hear". His sheep know His voice. If His voice is not clear to you, "ask and ye shall receive, seek and ye shall find" (Matt7:7). I am praying for you that you might know how to ask and how to receive what God has for you. What He has for you will not necessarily coincide with what you want.

I like to test all things. I have a rigorous dating obstacle course designed where only the honorable and brave man of God will survive it. Smile!

I feel one of the most important things is to make sure he loves you respectfully:
  • He doesn't suffer much over things he does not control (including you).
  • He is able to tolerate disagreement from you and speaks up when you don’t seem to tolerate disagreement from him.
  • He doesn’t try to be right. He tries to be masculine, fair, and seek teamwork.
  • He respects your opinions and his own.
  • He keeps his privacy to himself, honors it, and respects yours.
  • He has a strong sense of identity with specific tastes and preferences.
  • He is able to go be his own person, have his own friends, hobbies, territory, and activities.
  • He allows you to go be your own person, have your own friends, hobbies, connections, and activities.
  • He doesn’t use the most hurtful facts about you to fight. He uses the facts of the moment’s situation.
  • He is independent, with a masculine sense of territory, but is able to open up to you, and when he opens up to you, he doesn't let himself get permanently stuck there in a condition of codependence.
