Waiting on Him - February 02, 2006
"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
We stand grateful before the throne of God for His awesome provision to us during 2005. We have definitely seen His mighty Hands at work through many events and miracles. Even in the unfortunate events that have taken place, we trust that He has turned them around for our good and used them to purify us to be purer than gold. In all cases, we know that we are winners and more than conquerers simply because we are the children of the King of Kings. Hallelujah!
Remember when you were waiting for friends and family to come over for Christmas, the strength and zeal you felt to get everything prepared and tidy? In the same way, God is reminding us in 2006 that waiting upon Him is the best source of renewing our strength. His word says that the young who do not wait upon Him may faint and fall (Isaiah 40:30) But those who wait on Him, however young or old, poor or rich, healthy or sick - all those who wait upon Him and Him only - shall renew their strength. Not only that, but "they shall mount up with wings as eagles" as well, "they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31)
Let's start the 2006 with the determination to wait upon and for the LORD. Let us wait upon Him to bring His sweet promises to us into fulfillment, to use our lives to the most for His glory, to bring us refreshing days and to help us mature spiritually to become like Jesus. We also wait for His glorious coming to earth to take His faithful children back home. Nothing is more empowering and strengthing that waiting upon our Faithful Father.
