Genesis Chapter 1 to Genesis Chapter 2 verse 3 is an overview of the Creation of the Heavens and Earth.
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Adam was already mentioned created on the sixth day in Genesis Chapter 1 verse 26-27
