Written by me after leaving my first church


Welcome to the church of Laodicea,
Where fake smiles and handshakes are glad to meetcha,
If you've got a nice watch everybody will greetcha,
If you've got a fat wallet we'd be glad to seatcha,
Now tune in to this mornings feature,
Some offering plates and a guest speaker,
All you hear is preaching on tithing in church,
No body concerned about the new birth,
I'm a Baptist, flavor? Independent?
Yet we need a special usher just to take attendance?
501 c3 church incorporated?
Yet I’m supposed to feel like I’ve been liberated?
Do all the right things, and receive a reward,
But wait, brother, there's something wrong with your tithe record.
Don’t you know you can write it off on taxes?
These dumb sheep don't know what the facts is,
I’m sick and tired of appealing to the masses
I don’t care what the next twenty week class is
Jesus died to save this lost soul
He said give no thought to your puny wardrobe
Give no trust in how much you're given
But rather that you believe in Jesus Christ who's risen.
Don’t become a victim of moralism
Or the vanity of churchianity and ism’s

To many churches today are in this same spot. The church needs to learn from the mistakes this church and others churches have made.

This type of church is very much a whited tomb .clean on the out side and full of dead men's bones.....Christ spoke judgement of the same on the pharises and they will share the same fate ,But for the sake of Christ pray for salvation and healing for such ,as they too were called whomsoever ,and there but for the Grace of God Go we all .....Rev

Amen my friend, I spent a couple years there preaching and discipling behind the scenes but the pastor and his crew of yes men seemed to run off all the converts, eventually he ran me off when I discovered he was cooking the books for 10 grand a year and brought it up at the business meeting.
