So Jesus stood still and called them, and said, "What do you want Me to do for you?" They said to Him, "Lord, that our eyes may be opened." Matthew 20:32-33 NKJV
You have things you’d like to do and you might even give those plans a voice. You tell other people what you have in mind, but somewhere deep inside there’s a voice you’ve heard before telling you it’ll never happen. It says you’re dreaming, you’re not good enough, and it won’t happen for someone like you. Taking heart sometimes means telling God about dreams you think are outlandish or too big to come true.
This is what Jesus asked a group of blind men to do. He didn’t ask them to downplay their request. He wanted to hear their dream (however improbable). The men didn’t hesitate—they wanted to see. Because of their belief, or because He was the Son of God, Jesus gave them the very thing they had been dreaming about. The men must have felt that He had given them a new life. He had.
You have a big idea, but it’s nothing compared to God’s big idea for you. Share your plan with Him and ask Him for help. God’s answer might surprise you.
Prayer: Lord, You want me to believe that big ideas come true. It may be the thing I want or it could be the thing You know I need. Help me believe in the big idea.
