um I have been thinking about a lot of things due to easter and lent . I notice especially throughout my day if i am feeling particularly bad , I get a ... hmm pain in my heart area . Is this what people mean when they say the holy spirit talks to them? I would like to discuss it in more detail. Sorry if this is in the wrong thread ...
The “Holy Spirit” will remind you what “Jesus” has said to you in His “written Word”. If you have not read it, How can the Holy Spirit remind you of what you haven’t read. That is why the Bible tells us “let the word of God dwell in you richly”!

The “Holy Spirit” will never “contradict” the Word of God! They are in agreement always.
But many of Christians always, try to take escape routes, to satisfy their desires. And Your enemy is always there to “Speak into your ear, sweet nothings”. Pay no attention of people telling you the Holy Spirit told them this and told them that. Keep close to the word of God, and grieve not the Holy Spirit. Ok

I'm not sure I know the answer. When I slip up and I let God down, it's not long before there's thoughts running through my head telling me, you gone and done it this time, you really gone too far, God isn't going to want to know you. It's pretty easy to spot that one; God who loves you so much he gladly redeemed you at an exorbitant price, isn't going to drop you like a hot coal just because of a few slip ups, He knew you were going to do that before He called you. Easy to deduce that that's the conviction of Satan, not God.
This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. 1 John 3:19-22 NIV
To the believer the Spirit gives wisdom and comfort rather than conviction. Hope that helps.
Hello, Kim. I feel the Holy Spirit is a still small voice speaking to you or nudging you. God works in amazing ways and He can speak to you through His Word or through other people or circumstances. You are in my prayers, sister.

After reading your thread I'm suggesting that you go to the doctor and have them check your heart and I'm serious about that.
The Holy Spirit talks to us through the urgings and we often refer to it as urgings in your heart but you'll feel it is urging like I'll give an example when you're at home maybe you've been watching TV maybe I've been reading the scripture who knows but suddenly out of the blue I thought will come into your mind about contacting an old friend you don't know where exactly the thought came from but now you're being urged in your mind to contact this old friend that is the urging of the Holy Spirit it comes to you out of the blue in many cases and suddenly you're thinking about somebody else about how you need to contact them call him up write them a letter that is the movement of the Holy Spirit within you
As you grow deeper in the Holy Spirit and Understanding God's love in your heart where you can recognize God's peace in your heart versus your own personal peace then the holy spirit will move in other ways within you but you will have to learn to recognize Him by that time
