There are a few foods that Jesus ate in the Bible. I am curious about one of them...

Luke 24:42; They gave Him a piece of a broiled fish;
Luke 24:43; and He took it and ate it before them.

Well, Jesus wasn't a vegetarian. :)

Isa 7:14; "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.
Isa 7:15; "He will eat curds and honey at the time He knows enough to refuse evil and choose good.

These are the only foods that the Bible specifically says Jesus ate. But there is another food He consumed.
There are verses were we can "infer" Jesus ate bread and drank wine, but the Bible doesn't actually say He did. So it is a guess at best.

1Cor 11:23; For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread;
1Cor 11:24; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
1Cor 11:25; In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."
1Cor 11:26; For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes.
1Cor 11:27; Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
1Cor 11:28; But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
1Cor 11:29; For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly.
1Cor 11:30; For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep.

... and finally ....

John 4:32; But He said to them, "I have food to eat that you do not know about."
John 4:33; So the disciples were saying to one another, "No one brought Him anything to eat, did he?"
John 4:34; Jesus *said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.

Food is needed to both empower a person to hear the will called the "milk of the word" it teaches us God is gracious therefore empowering us to eat what is called to do the will. .

Therefore mixing the things seen the temporal with the things eternal of His faith the invisible power as a labor of His love.

God is able to provide for us all of our needs. Have a little faith. Does He not feed the birds too? But, seek the kingdom of God, first, and everything else will be added to you.

I was coming through the woods on a hot summer day, just me and the Lord were out there.
I said Lord one of them wine coolers would be good right now. I just suggested it, and there is was sitting in the crook of a tree, ice cold.
I remember when I saw it, I thought, can't be! No way! Then I saw the condensation on the bottle. I was in aww. I reached and got it. Yep, it was ice cold. I thanked the Lord and sat down right there, leaned my back against that tree and drank my wine cooler from heaven.

Don't y'all know God has all the power to give you what you ask for? Least I ask for bread and He give me a stone?

God is able.
All praise glory and honor be unto God.

On the other hand, what Jesus did not eat was unclean animals.

Jesus' last supper was a Passover (Matt 26:17-20, Mark 14:12-17, & Luke 22:7-15)
during which the 12th chapter of Exodus requires Jews to eat a lamb flavored with
a spicy sauce.

Please beware of this false gnostic phylosophy, that we should only focus on bible study and spiritual practice, while neglecting our physiological need. That would lead you to get detached from reality.

I asked Gotquestion.org about processed food, and to my disappointment, they just obfuscated it by telling me, "follow your own conscience," and they justified it by wrongfully quoting Matthew 15:11 - “not what goes into the mouth that defiles a man.” Well, then if somebody does happen to defile their body by substance abuse, does that prove Jesus wrong? If somebody eventually gets their body defiled by consuming artificial sweeteners and hydrogenated oil that slowly damage their health, does that prove Jesus wrong? Or does that prove them wrong? Look, Jesus, the incarnate of God, came to fulfill God's law and faithfully lived out God's original design. He didn't make up a new diet, whatever he ate, either plant or animal products, he ate what God has ordained for human consumption - NATURAL food created out of the dirt, not artificial edible substances created out of a lab. "Kosher" in the OT is not an exclusive Jewish diet, but simple instructions for our health benefits, which apply to all mankind! As for everything in Paul's letters concerning diet, such as Romans 14:14, The purpose of that and everything else regarding diet in his letters is inclusivity, do not turn diet into a wedge issue and form false identities around what you eat - or not eat - like what everybody in the "health industry" is doing today!

.
Jesus' glorified body is capable of dinning upon ordinary foods and
beverages

Matt 26:29 . . I tell you: I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now
on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom.

Luke 22:15-16 . . I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you
before I suffer. For I tell you: I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in
the kingdom of God.

Luke 22:28-30 . .You are the ones that have stuck with me in my trials;
and I make a covenant with you, just as my Father has made a covenant
with me, for a kingdom, that you may eat and drink at my table in my
kingdom

I would offer that we look to the purpose of different kinds of food in order to find the hidden understanding..

Milk and meats . Drinking and eating. Drinking the milk which teaches us God is gracious preparing us empowering us to do his will . . .the meat of the word as finishing the will of our Father. The food the disciples knew not of.

On day three, the day he found pride in the heart of lucifer he had already prepared food to be used in parables of eating and drinking . Using food to test to see if mankind would both hear (drink in) , and obey, (eat .)

Genesis 1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day.

Luke 7:33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil
In that way the devil Satan would make it all about eating and drinking . . .focusing on the temporal things seen .

God used a lamb even before he created one to reveal his sufferings as if slain from the foundation of the world .The six days the Father did work. The promised demonstration came thousands of years later.

Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Food considered clean as redeemed by a lamb to represent the righteousness of Christ or if not redeemed it is dead.using a Ass. to represent unbelf no faith that could please God . Its neck must be broken like in hanging . A parable of the gospel .

Exodus 13:13And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.

Exodus 34:20But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.

In that way It is shown God is not served by the hands or will of mankind .he can use a unredeemed to declare his living word just as one redeemed

Numbers 22:28 And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?

Just as Satan opened the mouth of the most beautiful of all creation a serpent . Cut off its legs so it cannot walk in a greement with God .

Breaking the neck the spirit of judgement the sign of the unredeemed according to the tribe of Dan describes all false prophets as false apostle like that of Judas

Mathew 27:5 So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.

Greetings,

There are a few foods that Jesus ate in the Bible. I am curious about one of them...

Luke 24:42; They gave Him a piece of a broiled fish;

some translations include also honeycomb. From what we know, both were common foods for folk in that area and time.

Regarding the 'broiled' fish, it appears that means baked or cooked via direct heat. Very similar to the food He prepared for His Disciples, as accounted in John 21:9

It is 'good' however that we don't have much more about what Jesus ate. Can you imagine the doctrines and imitations that men would undertake to be more like the Lord Jesus ?

Instead we must imitate more important things that He gave example of.

Bless you ....><>

Agree. Jesus and his disciples depended on the hospitality of others for a large part of his three year ministry. I guess most day he ate whatever his hosts offered. Lots of grains, fruit, vegetables. Fish and meat whenever it was available.

Jesus came to loosen the bonds of death, not to give dietary guidance.

Greetings,

John 4:34; Jesus *said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.
Interesting earlier on in the dialogue...

Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and Who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of Him, and He would have given thee living water.
John 4:10

To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna,
and will give him a white stone,
and in the stone a new name written,
which no man knoweth saving he that receive it.

Revelation 2:17

Greetings,

I am reminded of...

Is this the fast I have chosen:
a day for a man to deny himself,
to bow his head like a reed,
and to spread out sackcloth and ashes?
Will you call this a fast and a day acceptable to the LORD

Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen:
to break the chains of wickedness,
to untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and tear off every yoke
Isn’t it to share your bread with the hungry,
to bring the poor and homeless into your home,
to clothe the naked when you see him,
and not to turn away
from your own flesh and blood?
Isaiah 58:5-7

1Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
2Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
3Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
4Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
5Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?
6Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
7Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
8Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
9Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
10And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:
11And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
12And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
13If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Bless you ....><>
