Not sure if this is the best place for this, but...here it is.
What Do People Throw Away?
By Jennifer Faust (my real name!)
I had a dream on April 7th, 2012 from about 10am until 10:40am. Someone in it asked the question: What Do People Throw Away?
Without stating the obvious, like leftover food things (for example peelings, shells, seeds, etc.) and other "trash", I started a list. I know there are more things, but this is what I came up with during and after the dream.
In no particular order:
~They throw away hope.
~The throw away their relationship with God.
~They throw away their relationships with other people.
~They throw away human life like it doesn't matter.
~They throw away one of the most important things: TIME.
~When the storms come and the waves are crashing all around, they throw away the knowledge of Who is with them and take on fear.
~They throw away strength, courage, and bravery to hold onto weakness, fear, and timidity. They aren't warriors anymore.
~They throw away their chance to speak out and adhere to keeping silent.
~They throw away laughter and can't remember the last time they truly laughed.
~They throw away joy and happiness for sorrow and pain, trying to defend their stance when their defense is crumbling at their feet.
~They throw away love because they don't believe in it anymore.
~They throw away morals. People should be able to live and love as they choose no matter what the Bible and God say about it (I don't believe this though!).
~They throw away peace when they chose to fight when they should have chosen to talk not shout. Peace is important, but you want the right kind.
~They throw away "Yes" and "No", confusing others of whether their "Yes" really is "Yes" and their "No" really is "No".
~They throw away beauty for an imitation.
~They throw away themselves because they believe other people would rather know a "fake" them then the real one.
~They throw away Jesus and what He stands/stood for. They can't understand His sacrifice so it's just better to throw it away and forget it.
~They throw away forgiveness like it is something that can only be "earned". "I won't forgive you until you earn it!"
~They throw away friendships. "Since you have nothing else to give me, I'm finished with you!"
~They throw away marriage like it isn't a "'til death" deal.
~They throw away certain memories to only remember the good ones, but the bad shape a person and their life, too.
~They throw away their own lives on trivial, meaningless things. There are only a few things we can take along when we die. TVs, cars, and houses are NOT on the list!
~They throw away their health. They eat the wrong things, barely exercise, and don't try alternative things that "all-knowing" doctors don't prescribe.
~They throw away the wonder of a child for "adult busyness". Don't lose the awe, wonder, and enjoyment of God's creation.
~They throw away the child-like faith for an "adult-like arrogance" that makes me sick. Forget about being analytical and let God's spirit move in you.
Disclaimer: Like I said before, these are only a few of the things people throw away. Not everyone throws all of them away, but I bet there is at least one on this list that you yourself have thrown or are throwing or maybe even will throw away.
