What is the Reason for the Hope that is in You?

Thank you @Beetow for starting this discussion. It's a most worthy matter for ALL who claim to be BORN AGAIN FOLLOWERS OF JESUS CHRIST.

As children of the One and Ony living God and followers of our Savior Jesus Christ, we are told to be prepared to give a defense for our faith. As Peter plainly says:

"Always be prepared to give a defense to everyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you. But respond with gentleness and respect, 16keeping a clear conscience, so that those who slander you may be put to shame by your good behavior in Christ." 1 Peter 3:15-16.

My defense has been clearly stated before in another thread (I've included it here verbatim at the end of this post), and yet I was roundly criticized by one's that call themselves brothers in Christ.

Instead of correcting what they perceived as wrong or what they perceived unsupported by scripture, or any other legitimate reason for their critical review of the reason I gave for the hope that is in me, they simply obfuscated and attacked. I'm fine with that, for I receive greater attacks for my faith from people I love dearly, i.e., my unsaved family members.

So I ask all reading: Do you have a defense, an apologian, for the hope in you? If so, can you articulate it here and now? If not, what are you doing to prepare yourself to give a defense?

My defense: Science. Nature. The order in the world and the cosmos. The fact that the universe had a beginning and did not come from the absence of anything. The fact that history affirms the Bible in that the Bible is a compilation of preserved and reliable historical documents written by eyewitnesses during the lifetimes of other eyewitnesses who report supernatural events occurred that fulfilled written prophecy from hundreds and thousands of years beforehand that are divine rather than human in origin. All of the foregoing point to a creator God and the risen Christ. If the skeptic remains a skeptic, it's not for lack of evidence; it's because they prefer to live as though they aren't accountable to a Supreme Creator God. They prefer their sins over truth and darkness over light.

The Bible was written by over 40 authors over a period of 1400 years in different manuscripts of time. Yet they all come together and point to God and Jesus Christ being the Son of God. Over 300 prophecies of Jesus Christ was fulfilled in scriptures. It would be astronomical for just one prophecy to be fulfilled. And they all were. Plus after coming to Christ, the promises from His Word have never failed. He has always been faithful and trust He always will be. His Word has always guided me in the right direction and my life has had fulfillment as I walk in Him.

My hope is for all humans to stay conscious of the truth. After all, what is there without the truth but delusion.

My hope is not what those in denial want to hear. Those that want to know are already hopeful and know the answer in their heart, but not necessarily in their head. In that case, my task is to help them hear their own heart. Otherwise, they only hear what their head wants to hear, and not their heart _ which 'knows' the truth. After all, one must know what they are denying before they can deny it.

Fear blocks the consciousness of what is true. Unconditional Love releases fear and tears the veil that covers their truth. Their denial has been compromised and their soul has been given a touch of unconditional love. Their own 'hope' has turned into a greater reality. The heart/soul has touched the persons consciousness, regardless of how subtle that may be. Now their mind 'knows' what the Truth contains, unconditional love.

They may feel unworthy of unconditional love. But this tear in their own fabricated veil of denial may weaken their fear of vulnerability and exposure. . . the start of a penitent person.

Unlike humans, God keeps His promises. Plus God truly loves us, and wants the best for us, like any "good" father wants for his children. I need no more for my hope in the Lord. And God is not myopic, like so many humans, leading you down some path to focus on what He considers more important, He gently, bit by bit leads you in "all the ways" that we should go.
