Ok so what is the biggest reason why people do not tell others about god?

I was in this shop right today and this guy was there who is 81 named Arthur yeah? He was in front of me ok, and he asked me if he could straighten my boxes on the belt so i said sure why though? and he said he HAS to do it because he has an illness (cant remember what it was called though) he has to have everything straight because it makes him upset if he doesn't so i walked home his way (even though it was not my way home but i was bored yeah and he was funny and really cool) and he talked to me on his way home.

And we gotten on to the subject of god because he asked me about my friends and all and i told him about Talk Jesus.

I don't think he got it though he is quite old and didn't know you can get to talk to people on the internet but he did ask me lots of questions about god and jesus.

He said he would think about it! Cool huh? I told him to ring me if he has any more questions and i would ask someone in here if i didn't know the answer and i gave him my cell phone number. He gave me a big bristly grandad kiss on the cheek eeww! He is ok though

SO! i cannot remember ANYONE telling me about god or jesus when i lived in London or Scotland for ages and i must have come across christians! at some time! why didn't they?

So what is the biggest reason people don't say something if it can help people?
and also what can happen to make that different?

its really important to know

Hi Heather-Anne,

Maybe people don't talk about God sometimes because religion can be a very controversial subject. It is good that you befriended this guy Arthur but from one sister to another stay safe ok.

hanni

the world we live in is one taught by society and the devil to be an insular one. one where we look after number one, ourselves, and worry not about anyone or anything else; at best we worry about what our neighbours have and try and have bigger and better material things. this is the way we are told to live and as you have said not the way we should live

unforunately a lot of christian people are merely pew fillers. they attend church on a sunday, at best, if not merely weddings, funerals and carol concerts. these people live under the banner of the name and call themselves christian, but are they really and truly so? it is not my place to judge them, but for me to live as the Lord has decreed i find that He wants me to do more than just pray the same repetitions for one hour per week.

if we love the Lord then we are surely called into service of the Lord. when we serve the Lord we serve all those He places infront of us, just like you did for arthur.

to love Jesus we must follow His commands, we therefore alongside our loving of the Lord our God, our loving of our neighbours, we must also go and make disciples. this may seem like an extreme command, but when we live and love with all our hearts, minds and souls. when we allow the love and grace of Christ to flow through us we will truly find ourselves sharing His love and His Word without trying; it will be natural to do so, for it is natural to share His love.

if the Spirit is truly alive in any person, if that person is truly on fire with the Holy Spirit then that person would simply and easily always be serving and helping each and every person that the good Lord places infront of them. whether that service was sharing the Good news, or praying for them, or dependant on the gifts received, healing, prophecising, etc

John 20:21-22
again Jesus said, "peace be with you! as the Father has sent Me, I am sending you." and with that He breathed on them and said, "receive the Holy Spirit.

live in the love of our Lord

work with the Spirit sent by our Lord

work for the Lord has He decrees of you

Matthew 28:18-20
then Jesus came to them and said, all authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to Me.
therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. and surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

God bless

Amen. We are all children of God and at different stages on the path. We have different backgrounds and obstacles to overcome, some that evil deliberately puts in our way. Some people might say that my life long friends and family (who I love dearly) are heathens. God knows I live with their taunts daily but I pray to God that I stay strong, I think that is all we can do? May the strength of God remain in your hearts.

okay well hanni...
this is just why i dont talk heaps bout god and jesus and so on...
i have lots of non-christian friends and i feel kinda stupid if i would talk to them
bout god and so...
i always think that im not a good christian and no good example
to look at cause im no where near being like jesus....
and i mean if people ask me about god and so then i have no problem talking about him...but i never start a conversation about him...
dont know why just is like that...

god bless
kara

Hanni, without wishing to state the obvious, I think that it is not just what you say that counts but what you do. You took the time to walk with the old man, that will move people as much as wise words.

I can speak from my own experience only. One is the possible ridicule that I might face, people telling me I am a hypocrit as I sin. Took me a long time to get over that, but finally faced it when I was travelling around the south pacific. Figured that He would be speaking on my half to God, that He has given me eternal life and nothing is greater than that. I left those fears and insecurities behind. I want to share Jesus with peopel I meet, want Him to change their lives like He has mine. We can get so caught up in our lives and not do His work as He wants us to do .

but you do speak out

You did speak!

To me that was brave. you could have been wrong about what you said. i even used caps to talk back to you in. but you were not wrong and it saved my life

that was brave mmd to speak out and be firm about god with me

Dear Hanni;

I was praying, deeply praying, to our Father before logging on to Talk Jesus.

He led me to this thread and thank you for sharing your testimony, sister!

I thought it was so cool how you detailed everything about this charming chap and I truly believe as Used2believe shared it was all God who used you to do His work. This elder brother was given another chance to have the seed planted in him by you so God could cultivate and reveal our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in his heart. Now, we probably won't know the end result but you did what you could do. Now God does the rest, wooohooo! :thumbs_up

I tell others about God only because I love God so much.

As I was sharing with Bunny earlier this evening in Luke 12:11-12, When you are brought before the synagogues, rulers, and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.

It really, really, works, and as brothers and sisters like mymakersdaughter ministers and encourages us, to my wife and I, it takes out the fear how others may view me. It doesn't matter.

But if they make fun of my hair then that is another story! lol! just kidding! :shade:

I love you all!

Your servant in Christ Jesus.

Hi hanni
why most people do not tell people about God is they think that some one else will do it for them and that they can go on just sitting in there church with the door close. They will ever get out and talk to people.

Heather-Anne,

There are two kinds of people who claim to be part of the Christian faith; visitors and members. "Members" are those who enter in all the way. They are committed to Jesus Christ and are in love with Him and it shows in their lives.

Church parking lots are often full of automobiles on Sunday, but unfortunately, most of those vehicles belong to "Visitors".

"Visitors" are those who go through the motions only. They go to church regularly, say the right words, sing the songs and they believe that they can buy their way into the Kingdom that way. They may even stop and chat with the preacher before leaving. They may even "visit" for many years. But their hearts are focused on the world, not on God. They are like a lady I encountered at church one Sunday who loudly proclaimed that she hoped the preacher would'nt talk too long because there was an American football game on TV that she didn't want to miss.

As you were growing up, you undoubtedly encountered many "visitors". But, thanks be to God, there was at least one "member" that crossed your path in some way and planted some seeds in your heart.

I suggest that you study the Gospel of Mark, Chapter Four.

In Him,

SLE
