What is the right way to pray

This may sound crazy to some people that a 46 yr old man should be asking how to pray or what is the right way to pray but I have been struggling when it comes to praying (I pray at minimum 6-8 times a day) and it seems to me that not much is happening.I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior about 18 months ago and I love Him more than life itself and there is nothing that I will not do or tell any one to show people just how great He is but it seems I am stuck or being held back by some thing.I put the full armour of God every day and I pray for guidance and seek Him every day...am I doing something wrong...please some one with advice please let me know how to pray the right way...God bless you all...

The disciples asked Jesus how best to pray. His answer was, "Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen" God hears all prayers and answers them as well. But He is not a vending machine, putting in a prayer and receiving what you want in return. He will not give you a burning ember if you ask for it because its not for your good. Likewise, He will not give you wealth, if its not for your own good. Seek the good spiritual gifts with the purpose of serving the needs of God and your fellow man, and God will give them to you as He see's fit. Pray for humbleness and God will humble you. It wont be fun for you and it will take time, but He can do it, and it is a good gift. Dont pray for the healing gift if you wish it to glorify yourself with it. Dont pray for more money, for you will come to trust in the money more than God. God cares for you and takes care of your needs, but most peoples needs are far far less than what they think, and sometimes, the best gift is not getting what we want. Have faith brother. God hears your prayers!!

If we take the "country" out of JFK's words and replace it with "God", it comes out like this: "Ask not what your God can do for you, but ask what you can do for your God".

That my friend is where we all need to be in our prayers. Whatever we are asking for "me" should always be, if not deleted then subordinated to what we can do for God and very often His answer to us when we are able to hear Him will relate to what we can do for our neighbor or even for our enemy.

The best and most rewarding way is to pray in the Holy Spirit - that is to pray in tongues as commanded by Jesus - Mark 16: 17
One can pray for ten minutes or an hour, and the recharge is just wonderful; plus the benefits of answered prayer and miracles...

I find myself praying between 20 mins.-90 mins. I have no idea how to pray in tongues,I say what ever comes into my head .

Praying in tongues is the Bible evidence [read Acts] of genuinely receiving the Holy Spirit.
Look for a Pentecost assembly that encourages and promotes the need to be born again by baptisms of water (full immersion) and of the Holy Spirit,
with the Bible evidence of speaking (praying) in tongues... just as you can read for yourself in Acts and the epistles.

Proper prayer should not understand the will of God on the basis pray that we do not understand the Holy Spirit to open the myth.

I always pray, then say In Jesus Name I pray. Sometimes just meditating listening for God to speak to me. Try to remember to ALways thank him.
