What makes for a good marriage?

I thought I would put this out there. I see what life brings us and how people today think that living together is the way to go. My thoughts are that "living together" is a lack of comittment. Either party could just up and leave at anytime. Then who suffers? Everyone does! The man, the woman and the children if any are involved. Marriage is a symbol of what God wants in a relationship with us! If we can't make our marriage work then how can we expect our relationship with God to work? (can of worms)
Marriage is a covenant, a comittment and a way of life. What of the "vows"? So many people write their own and leave out many parts about the comittment. It is not a lease option to buy! Living together is the ultimate slap in the face to God. The evil one will do anything to destroy a "relationship" with God. Including degrading what God meant to be "holy"! "the ways of man are right in his eyes, but the end there of is death" (you can search that one yourself). There have been many days in my marriage that I would have walked out. After 20 years I left for two months. I stayed with my brother who tried to convert me to an "ism". I searched for God and His answers. He told me to go home and make things work. No matter what it took. He told me that He even "died" to make a relationship work with me! Are we willing today to die for our relationships? I'm sure many wish that death would come quickly in some of our marriages! I used to wish that! I had my pastor hold my gun for a while... "Love covers a multitude of sins" (you can look that up too). If God will do the ultimate so we can love Him and have a relationship with Him, then we need to have the same comittment with our wives... Note: a little tollerations goes a long way... PR
