Look at 2 mountains far away. One behind the other. They seem as if they are close enough to each other to be touching.
As you stand on the first one though,you see a large long valley between the 2.
This is how the writers saw the future.
The first mountain peak was the coming of the Messiah. The second peak was the Day of the Lord/Jacobs Troubles/Tribulation.
They couldnt see and had no idea the valley/church age, was even there
The Messiah has come. We are now in the valley. When Christ raptures the church out,then Israel will see and be involved in the tribulation.
No the scriptures do not say the words rapture. But it will most definitely take place.
The old writers couldnt write about it because God hid it from them. It wasnt for them and the Israel nation. And some cant see it today. But if you have to have a grasp of the old testament before you can hope to understand Revelation.
