I personally don't like gospel music much, I'm more into **** and industrial and rock

I believe Christian rock is good for us to listen to and I'm going to the Skillet concert tomorrow.:singing:

I think that verse pertains to this. Yes, musicians have a gift. Most I believe use it for ungodly things.
Philippians 4:4-9

How can things that are not godly...be praiseworthy, etc as Phil 4:8 says?
Why even listen to something that can cause you to be dishonest, etc?
I know for myself there is no place for me to listen to music that curse and say sexual things just about every word!
I have heard people say "I like the music". I would wager they know the lyrics, too. Satan knows that with music...the music that has lyrics...we get bad things inside...and those things are likely to come out!
I would say...watch and listen to what you listen to music wise. Be careful! Satan is roam around like a roaring lion...seeking those whom he can devour! And he isn't one to take lightly...remember his rebellious ways.
I listen to Christian...contemporary, praise and worship. I also like to listen to the music that has no lyrics...classical, jazz, big band, etc.
It isn't that I have never listened to the other...I just know what it does when I do.
I can't remember if this is in the bible...BUT I have to watch what I put in front of my eyes and in my ears! The gateways to our hearts...are you keeping them...are you the gate keeper to your heart?

Right, I think if somebody's saved and they love God their not going to sin because of something they heard in a song. But I have to ask why would someone who loves God want to listen to music that glorifies sin? That doesn't make any sense to me.
check, even if you are a strong Christian but you listen to music whch is ungodly, it will affect spiritually and you wont be as effective. think, why does it say "Bad company corrupts" because what you subject yourself to, ends up being part of you. 2 corinthians 6:18 at the end "let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates oubodies and spirits". plus there are some tight Christian musicians out there (modern and old school)

music on the stations air1, and klove are nice to listen to, with bands like Casting Crowns, Kutless, MercyMe, Barlow Girls, Relient K, Switchfoot. all the songs have a nice beat to them, and they offer a positive message about God which is really cool.

I only listen to gospel and christian rock... lol black girl likin rock right lol... nah but I can't allow that disfunction of ungodly music to get into my spirit its just too much for me. Its hard to find friends that only listen to godly music everyone looks down on me like theres something wrong with just listen to godly music.

well every music is gospel, be it rock, rnb or house- they all have a message to send and some gospel to preach out there (well, some people call it influence but i call it gospel. it's a revelation i got the Holy Spirit)... so for a xstian i recommend music that will feed your soul and spirit, music that will cause you to grow as a person and as a xstian, and that also will help you get closer to GOD... and that type of music can only be one, the music of the gospel of Jesus... hope it helps

I will always think there is no one type of music that Christians can listen to, they can listen to all types of music

As a Christian I like Gospel music.
There exists no Christian music that suits my taste
This is a VERY good topic.
I have never heard a Christian act that I could listen to. And I've looked all over that I know where to look - Google, YouTube... the shops (a joke in this country if you fall outside the garden variety Christian)....
The closest I've found to my taste, but still not quite there for me, is christianindustrial - a website complete with streaming audio etc. it's just that most of the content there is still too, umm, "friendly" for my taste.
I'm not going to mention the secular artists I enjoy because I dont know if that could lead to someone getting mixed up in the wrong stuff.... :shock:

I like aggressive, fast, noisy electronic industrial dark EBM techno type music/noise.
Thing is: There is no Christian counterpart for the secular acts in this genre.
Not that there's much along the lines of secularity about those "secular" acts that there are - all of them try to pose as passionate satanists with combat boots and stage blood and gasmasks - really funny actually).
You know what? That's it! :lightbulb I'm going to start my own Christian industrial ebm outfit. Maybe this is something worthwhile to do with my musical :note: ability.

personally i like rock...heavy rock stuff like that because i think if i kept singing classical and no offense to anyone...oldies music i think i would go mad
but i listen to music that gloryfies God...so the artists i like are...
RED, Skillet, august burns red, Demon Hunter(thats my rock listen anyway lol)
