"The Levites were the descendants of Levi, one of Jacob’s twelve sons. Moses was of the tribe of Levi, and when God delivered the Law to him on Mount Sinai, He marked the Levites as the tribe responsible for the primary religious duties in the nation. They were made priests, singers, and caretakers in the worship of God. In calling it the Levitical Law, we acknowledge that God revealed the Law through Moses, a Levite, and that God appointed the Levites as the religious leaders of Israel."

Given to Israel NOT us.
Doesn't mean it isn't applicable for learning. It's part of history.
They were way to separate themselves from the pagans.

Why did God require animal sacrifices in the Old Testament?

God required animal sacrifices to provide a temporary covering of sins and to foreshadow the perfect and complete sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Leviticus 4:35, 5:10). Animal sacrifice is an important theme found throughout Scripture because “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness” (Hebrews 9:22). When Adam and Eve sinned, animals were killed by God to provide clothing for them (Genesis 3:21). After the flood receded, Noah sacrificed animals to God (Genesis 8:20-21).

I know that so MANY will whine and cry about Leviticus and "claim" it's applicable to us today and we "want to kill gays, lesbians, Alphabet people">
"God designed and created human sexuality, and He prescribes how sexuality is to be expressed. Leviticus 18:22 mandates that men shall not lie with men."

Leviticus 18 includes a number of restrictions on sexual behavior, including these:
• a prohibition of “uncovering the nakedness” of blood relatives and close relatives (Leviticus 18:6–17)
• a prohibition of sex with women who are menstruating (Leviticus 18:19)
• a prohibition of marrying a woman and her sister (Leviticus 18:18)
• a prohibition of adultery (Leviticus 18:20)
• a prohibition of bestiality (Leviticus 18:23)
• a prohibition of sacrificing to the false god Molech (Leviticus 18:21)
• an instruction that men shall not lie with men as a man would lie with a woman (Leviticus 18:22)

"God’s view of homosexual acts has not changed—homosexuality is still a violation of God’s design for humanity (see Romans 1; 1 Corinthians 6:9; and 1 Timothy 1:10)".

was for the purpose of to remind them of there on going sin, according to Hebrews

Hebrews 10:1-4

For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near. Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

The world is in the shape it is in because of the ungodly and then because the death penalty has become a political joke.
All murders, rapists, child molesters, queers and drug traffickers should be put to death.
But weak limp wristed, pansy Christians (so called), are inept.
