Hello brothers and sisters i have been saved before but i feel as though i have gone horribly off track and going to opposite direction now... how can i truly be saved and feel the effects of being born again? would i feel different? or the same? i try really hard but i always fall into temptations and fail myself and God... i want to please him and let him use me as a puppet for his needs but i feel that the Devil has my strings... how do i save myself if i have to do it alone? i feel ashamed talking to a preacher or anyone of the church thinking i will be ridiculed(sp?) b/c of how the world is today.

My Dream...

If this also give you any indication of how scared i am to burn forever and ever here is is

Not to long before i was saved i had a dream: I was falling but first it was pitch black i could not see anything there were screams and shouting, mouns of pain everything imaginable around me i started to see a glow at the bottom of this tunnel that seemed to be lava or fire maybe both but when i splashed down in to it i suddenly started gasping and calling out for water.

After this part a HUGE dark figure raised itself infront of me he looked like me ungly and with horns and scales sticking out everywhere on his face and body he wore nothing and looked like a mirror image of me saying this "This is what became of you on earth commiting sins and following in my way instead of that horrible God!" i could do nothing but keeping falling while he pounded me with such words that made me cry but i could not speak for myself he wings were flapping they seemed to be like leather and feathers both torn and tattered. More evil creatures popped up behind me and draggedme away as he said quietly to me goodbye and enjoy your spot in Hell!

Though this dreams is from a few years ago it haunts me some seems vauge but i typed what stuck in my mind the images the horrible voice everything that scared me so bad. My mom said i was flailing and screaming while i was asleep and she couldn't wake me up i woke up in a sweat...

Brother, to be born again you experience a handful of wonderful things:

- relationship with Jesus (yes, even if you sin)
- forgiveness of *all* sins when confessed to in prayer
- guidance through the Holy Spirit in all aspects of life, when we surrender to Him
- peace about anything, usually if we are strong in faith

Nobody is perfect. The one who sins the least is the one who still needs Jesus as Savior as much as the one who sins the most. We're on the same boat in that area.

As far as your dream goes, some have had such dreams. Check out this video: http://www.talkjesus.com/streaming-video/16005-visit-hell.html

Tips on following Christ and growing in your walk with Him:

- read and study the Word as much as possible
- pray non-stop, no matter where you are and what your doing (even if your sinning, cry out to Him!)
- seek a bible-based local church or study group

Don't let fear nor doubt creep up on you. Jesus loves you no matter what you've done. The devil is also a lair, remember that. He cannot speak truth, literally cannot. GOD tells the truth as is for He is the Truth. Keep in mind that we are a work in progress. Salvation is a maturity, life long process. Its a gift from GOD no matter how "good" we try to be.

I hope this helps. GOD Bless.

"Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men." (Mt 4:19, Lk5:10) "I have chosen you, you did not choose me." (Jn 15:16)

When the disciples heard Jesus calling them, it wasn't the first time they'd heard His voice or seen Him. They were fishermen living and working in Galilee. He, too, was from Galilee and had begun His ministry preaching along the shores of the Sea of Galilee about a year or so earlier. They had to have heard Him preaching as they mended and dried their nets by the seashore after a night's work.

Being familiar with the discipleship process in Jewish culture, they were kinda, sorta aware of what was happening when He called them. But, there was one twist that blew their minds - in the Hebrew culture, you applied to the rabbi and waited to learn whether or not you were accepted. In this case, the rabbi was coming to them. Mystified, they literally got up, left their means of livelihood, and followed Him.

Did these men become polished leaders of the New Testament Church right away? Hardly. Blustery, blowhard Peter betrayed Jesus when the going got rough (he did come back, though).Judas Iscariot betrayed Him and didn't make it back. The Apostle Paul, who entered the picture some years after Jesus ascended back to heaven, had to have a major humility lesson before he could begin his ministry.

Maybe you've heard the saying " God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called."There's no standardized emotional response that comes like, say, an electric shock when one gets saved. But, if you were serious about receiving Christ when you spoke those words, God heard you and received you as His beloved son.

Your problem seems to be that growing in the Lord is often painful for a time. It reminds me of the times when I was a little boy and my mother would remove band-aids from my arm. I often thought I'd never survive the pain. And the pain was serious for, maybe, two minutes, then moderate for another two, and then, - gone. Change and growth is often painful for awhile but, if you focus on Jesus instead of on the problem things will get better.
