What's the future for Christian TV?

There's no doubt that when the anti-Christ bursts onto the scene, television, Internet and media will play a big part. Read -

Mark 13:22
Matthew 24:11
2 Timothy 4:3-4
2 Peter 2:1-3
Revelation 13:14

Without broadcast media all of these prophesied events will just wither on the vine without the oxygen of media.

In the UK we have about 10-15 so called Christian TV channels on satellite TV. There's a good mix of good, questionable and pretty awful programmes on these, none of the channels have consistently good output on them. The ones I look out for are David Jeramiah, Joseph Prince, Jentezen Franklin and archive footage of Billy Graham. By all accounts these guys are all seriously rich and with the exception of Joseph Prince, about 20% of their programme is a call to contribution, rather than a call to repent, believe and follow. There are a couple of others that are OK but the vast majority fall into two camps - life coaches (think positive, tell the people what they want to hear) and those that tell you to have faith, believe, send them big donations and God will make you almost as rich as they are.

Question. Why do these networks allow this garbage on their channels? Surely those responsible for commissioning and sourcing their output have read warnings from the Bible such as -

2 Corinthians 11:13-15
2 Timothy 4:3-4
2 Peter 2:1-22
Galatians 1:6-9

So why do they allow this garbage on their networks? One clue is money. TBN run a plea for donations candidly telling viewers that to run their network costs £16 ($20) per minute, that's 24-7-365! That's a lot of pressure. So when a few wolves like Messrs DuPlantis, Swaggart, and Copeland step up with big contributions in consideration for allowing them to fleece their sheep, it must be very hard to resist.

So when the anti-Christ bursts onto the scene, what do you think the Christian TV channels will be showing?

Most of TV isn't Christian -- it's programming that we've gotten used to watching. And we also have all the News stations. I watch Fox News and some KXAN. With the remote learning that is being used now-- and the live news reports. It would be fairly easy to have the entire world -- well -- taking into consideration the various time-zones involved -- viewing the same thing at the same time. Technowledgy is developing constantly.

I remember the first time that we had Live TV broadcast from a war zone -- a war correspondent was Live from a corner of a war zone -- bombs -- etc. -- it was Eerie to be seeing something like That happening in another part of This world. It was such a Weird feeling -- watching on TV something that was happening across the world.

But Christian TV -- Dr. David Jeremiah is the only one I watch on Sunday mornings.

Right now -- in the background -- I'm listening to Roselli and Isles -- The police department working with the medical examiner in solving a crime. The forensics / teamwork involved. The actual crime isn't usually shown, but every thing else -- examining the body -- at the scene -- and then getting to the roote of the situation -- crime solving.

And the Hallmark Mysteries / Movies is another favorite. And regular Hallmark movies. The Christmas movies. Life BEFORE masks and distancing.

TV usually shows what people are Watching. Decades ago there were family oriented programs -- we've gotten away from that.

Angels and demons alike whisper into the ears of writers and producers, etc. They have been doing so for generations. Each trying to produce a medium for the general population to adore and follow, be inspired by, some inspired to follow God, some inspired into some hedonistic lifestyle which follows right into the devils hands. I see it all the time.

I do remember our first tv when I was in grade school. It was black and white with 3 channels and a large screen with all kinds of tubes inside. We'd have to go up to the TV to turn it on and off / change channels. It went Off at midnight and started back up at 6 am or so. And once we lost the picture -- called the TV repair guy -- he took the TV apart and changed the picture tube and a couple of other smaller tubes. And Then we had all three channels back.

And I Also remember the 1st movies that were on TV. No more having to go to the movie theaters. They had a reputation for having highschool students making out in the back few rows. That was a No-No for us Baptist kids. The RCC kids could go watch the G-rated movies only. Us Baptists couldn't even do That.

And, now days, especially, the 'angels and demons alike' influencing writers and producers. And 'we' Do have the on and off and channel -changer on our remotes. :)
