you will find in the Bible a passage that speaks of a password----or you'll die
what is the password?
hint ----old testement----

Would it be Shibboleth?
It was a word the Ephraimites could not pronounce, thus betraying their intentions to pass themselves off as Gileadites.

:icon_lol:....or I'll die?? Now there's a motivator. ....though could be a hint, if you are referring to the passage I'm thinking.:icon_question:

A password - or verbal signal - was agreed upon between Jonathan and David, so that Jonathan could warn David in case of danger from King Saul.
The password: the arrow beyond you

1 Samuel chapter 20:

v.2 So Jonathan said to him (David), "By no means! You shall not die! Indeed, my father will do nothing either great or small without first telling me."
v.18-22 Then Jonathan said to David, "Tomorrow is the New Moon; and you will be missed, because your seat will be empty. And when you have stayed three days, go down quickly and come to the place where you hid on the day of the deed; and remain by the stone Ezel. Then I will shoot three arrows to the side, as though I shot at a target; and there I will send a lad, saying, 'Go, find ther arrows.' If I expressly say to the lad, 'Look, the arrows are on this side of you; get them and come' - then, as the LORD lives, there is safety for you and no harm. But if I say thus to the young man, 'Look, the arrows are beyond you' - go your way, for the LORD has you away."
v.32-33 And Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said to him, "Why should he be killed? What has he done?" Then Saul cast a spear at him to kill him, by which Jonathan knew that it was determined by his father to kill David.
v.37 When the lad had come to the place where the arrow was which Jonathan had shot, Jonathan cried out after the lad and said, "Is not the arrow beyond you?"

Maybe verses overkill, imready4thelord, but if it's not the events and passage to which you're referring, spare my life? :icon_eek:

{Thank you, Jesus, for eternal life!!}

Judges 12:6
Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce [it] right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.
