Lev 25:10 ..... and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: ...

I was about 12 years old and I had bought a key trinket of the liberty bell about an inch tall and saw it had writing on it. So I got a magnifying glass and read what it said. Lev 25:10 ..... and proclaim liberty throughout all the lands unto all the inhabitants thereof: ...
I memorized it, I did not know then it was from the bible, and would always ask people a trivia what national monument has this verse on it? No one ever got it right out of about 1000 people.
By the way I still have that trinket and the magnifying glass.

So be brave and share with us all what was the first Bible verse you learned and where.
:shade:

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
This was the very first thing one would learn as a young man in an on fire Southern Baptist Church.

New Life

2 COR 5:17, " The old is gone, the new has come.

This was the first verse I read after my Spiritual Birth and next to the joy of the personal experience, this first verse and now many others reinforced that all of this is true!

Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This is such a comfort to me!

The LORD is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27 is still my favorite Psalm

John 3:16 a monumental verse that put me one step closer to God

John 3:17 for Christ came not to condem the world but that the world should be saved through Him....

I guess any sunday schooler knows John 3:16 so there... but when I started my own Bible reading this is what really marked me Proverbs 3:3 "Let love and faithfulness never leave you, bind around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.

I have never memorized any of them. I simply take them all for the truth they tell.

But I like that one too. !!!!

I would say to all who are worried, and concerned not to be. You see God may allow trials in our life, he may let you get all the way out on the edge of a cliff , but you see God is truth and understanding. If someone does not handle things put upon them well, he is not going to condemn them. So he caused his son Christ to come and give us all salvation simply by the simple recognition of his name.

I fully believe once saved always saved, up to the point of death. If someone falls and walks away but calls upon God at the point of death, he will acknowledge this. God is so far above our human way of thinking it is not even comprehensible. He tells me you will mess up, you see you are Kit, the dummy. But I will forgive you. Unless you deliberately challenge me, I will not turn from you.

God is not the awful ogre some make him out to be, he reserves all that for those who deliberately challenge him. Those who speak against him and say ........you do not exist.

Something like that.......best verse in the bible taken with the entire truth of Gods word put with it.

Kit
