Very interesting questions are brought up.
I never thought of it this way and to this depth why He did that and in the bigger picture of things.

Because humanity cannot be trusted with knowledge without first practising righteousness. Look at how knowledge is abused to do evil things throughout human history.

God did not block Adam (man) from the tree of life, that is not what Gen 3:23-24 says.

Genesis 3:23-24

King James Version

23 Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.”

The flaming sword represents the Word of God which guides or “marks the way” of the tree of Life.

The sword of the Spirit is the word of God that guides us and marks the way to the tree of life. Just as Jesus said “
I am the way”

According to Rev 22:2 the tree of life is medicinal, i.e. good for treating whatever
ails you.

Well; when Adam tasted the forbidden fruit, his body lost immortality. The tree of
life would've restored it back to perfect health, but God was determined that Adam
not survive.

Those who eat from the tree of life are given eternal life.

Genesis 3:22
And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Notice what Jesus says about Himself…

John 6:54
Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the Life. (Aka The Word of Life)

Eternal life is often mistaken for immortality. The two are not the same.

Eternal life and Immortality are juxtaposed in 2Tim 1:10; where the terms are
connected with a conjunction. They aren't connected with a verb, so that you can't
say eternal life is immortality; no, eternal life and immortality are two distinctly
different subjects.

Immortality is a material kind of life that has to do with a superhuman body
impervious to age, death, and putrefaction.

Eternal life, on the other hand, isn't a material kind of life; it's a spirit kind of life;
which is why it's possible for people to obtain eternal life prior to obtaining
immortality.

For example: Christ had eternal life when he was here (John 5:26, 1John 1:1-2)
but according to Rom 6:9 and Rev 1:18, he didn't obtain immortality till he rose
from the dead.

Likewise Christ's believing followers have eternal life while they're here (John 5:24)
but according to Rom 8:23-25, 1Cor 15:51-53, and 1Thss 4:14-17 they won't
obtain immortality until their resurrections.

So then; I think we can safely conclude (in a nutshell) that immortality is
something that can be seen, while eternal life is something that cannot be seen.

The properties of eternal life are a little easier to understand when juxtaposed with
creature life.

Human life was created.

Eternal life wasn't created.

There's a large variety of created life.

There is only one eternal life.

Human life's primary characteristic is human nature; roughly defined as the
fundamental dispositions and traits of the human being.

Eternal life's primary characteristic is divine nature, roughly defined as the
fundamental dispositions and traits of the supreme being.

FYI: When people in possession of eternal life pass away, they are fully prepared to

go straight to heaven because God has devised a way to strip them of their human
nature and leave them with only the fundamental dispositions and traits of the
supreme being (Col 2:11). That's quite an advantage, and emphasizes the
importance of obtaining eternal life now, today, while it's available.

I agree with most of what you posted, except the part about God and Christ.

The word immortal also means uncorruptable, or incorruptable. Of course man being mortal is also corrupted by sin, and his mortal body does see corruption because of sin.

But God and Christ are not corrupted by sin, therefore neither did Christs body see corruption as is also written.

Psalm 16:10
For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Acts 2:27
Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Acts 2:31
He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

Acts 13:35
Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Acts 13:37
But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

Christ is the incorruptable seed, therefore He is the immortal and Eternal life.

1 Peter 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1 Timothy 1:17
Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Timothy 6:16
Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

God blocked Adam from access to the Tree of Life for his and Eve's own good. After the fall, had they still got to live forever, they would be condemned forever, and the hope of humanity is forever lost. With no more access to the Tree of Life, they began to procreate, and the future generations stood a chance to repent and return.

On the other hand, before the fall, God had already gave Adam a mission - be fruitful and multuply; fill the earth and subdue it. To a lot of people, the Garden of Eden is conflated with the whole earth, but nothing could be further from the truth. Eden was just one tiny speck probably located in today's Iraq, while Adam, as God's representative made in God's own image, was commissioned to fulfill the WHOLE earth, to make the whole earth Eden. Had he still clung to the Tree of Life, he would stay at home and never go out to accomplish that mission. When God made the covenant with Abraham, when Yeshua gave the great commission, those are essentially the continuation of this commandment.

The angel with the flaming sword wasn’t blocking the way but keeping the path open

Gen 3:22; Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever"—
Gen 3:23; therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.
Gen 3:24; So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.

Guard the way “To” not from the tree. Cherubim keeps the path to Christ open not closed

God did not block the path. If he did,you couldn’t have been saved
