Why would anyone refuse Salvation?

Barriers that block people from committing themselves to Jesus Christ and accepting His gift of salvation appear to fall under three general categories:

1) self-imposed ignorance,
2) pride, and
3) moral impurity.

In time, the presence of any one of these three leads to the other two. Often the problem of clearing one's way to the most important relationship in life boils down to discerning and removing the primary barrier.

I guess you could also add money to it brother. Matthew 19:21-23

The world also has the adversary to contend with for blinding man. 2 Corinthians 4:4

I'm sure you will find others replying with other verses.

You are right in the clearing of such barriers as a necessity. Yet the discernment and even the power to break said barriers does not initially reside in us, but through the Holy Spirit they are seen and eventually fall to His power. To our and heavens rejoicing I may add!

Love you brother.

Hey Christ4Ever,
Nice to hear your response and I agree that money can distract us from entering into a relationship with Jesus and accepting Him as our Lord and Saviour. But having money is not Scripturaly evil, it is the love of money that is evil.
We must put Christ first even if we are rich in material goods and if we are true Christians.

[h=1]1 Timothy 6:10King James Version (KJV)[/h]10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
