Witnessing to school

hi guys. God's put it upon my heart to reach my school this year. Which is absolutely super- excpet I have no idea how to reach them and tell them about God other than conversations...which can be daunting.
I though about holding a youth alpha course, but that wouldn't work because of time issues. The longest time available would be 40minutes max a day- and thats lunch time... what should I do? There are a few of us...maybe 5 max that I know of who are truly committed christians like I am in the whole schooll- which has 1500 kids. PLease help me!!!

Hi there katee, welcome to Talk Jesus.

Well, I've got a few simple ideas, other people may give you more, but tell me what you think.

Ask one of your friends to help you and make a flyer, or a little banner, half the size of an A4 page, write a verse on it like John 3:16....for God so loved the world that He gave His only Son....

Write the full verse and at the top of the verse, write something like: the time has come for you to believe, or just believe!

Now make two of these banners on one piece of A4 printer paper, one at the top, one near the half so that you can use one piece of paper for two banners/flyers.

You could add extra information on the flyer such as a meeting place etc. where you and your friends and anyone who is interested can come together and join each other. This could be on the school sport terrain after school for a half an hour each school day, or it could be during lunch, whatever means to get people to come!

Before taking on any of this, pray to God and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you in spirit, mind and truth. He will for sure.

That's just an idea from me, but you can achieve nothing on your own, only through God's help.

some of our schools here have a monthly get together with some free food some cool games and a short message of the gospel by a youth pastor or invited gest (approved by the school). After that flyers are given inviting them to youth services to our church.

At our church we then have (apart from our regular services) twice a year a large event consisting of lots of games some cool music, usually by a cool band, and the gospel message.

Remember that you are part of the body and although God has given you that burning desire to reach your school, use other members of the body to come along side you and help you with this. Even our Lord Christ did not go at it alone.

Thanks for all the input guys. Its been really helpful so far. My friend Jacqui, and another guy, Josh, are all committed christians too, and we've all got the desire. One thing we thought of was practising our youth band (most of the members go to my school) in break times so then people can experience some of the music. Also, at my school, people decorate and cover their diaries with stuff. Last year mine was full with random bits, but this year its God's diary currently being used by Katee. Its going to be full with verses and pictures and stuff about God...because, another thing we do at school, is anyone who has anything in their diary has their diary read by heaps of people.

IM doing the samething but some ppl in my school are not always into it or some or rude or not understanding about it. But my school has about 3,500 students enough to for them to look forward to accept Christ into there lifes:shade: :boy_hug: :girl_hug:

We have only 400 students in our "high school", but still we have been truly blessed! There is this group, about 12 people in it (I'm one of them, of course), and we have to breaks in a week, on wednesdays and fridays, when we go and pray together. That's so amazing!

actually, we aren't missing the classes. So, we meet only between our lessons or on our lunch time.

Hey guys, same here, God has placed on my heart an idea for a christian group at school. so after like 2months of planning, we are starting next week. Its called Ignition and its gonna be like a laidback youth service at school, with like some worship and a little 5-10minute prayer and then maybe a response, and then fellowship and food! And yea the first one is on tuesday! so yea, I'm speaking the first one, and its kinda scary a, i haven't done it before and it doesn't really feel like I'm qualified, and who knows how many people we will have! But hopefully it will be great! We're gonna do it every week, and cover different topics and stuff!! Hopefully it will be good!!!

Anyway, to everyone, just keep praying and listening and see what God has planned for your school and follow his instructions. We've had to ask permission from our school but they are all sweet and get a team of comitted Christians behind it to organise, share the burden and pray and make it go off!! Seriously! We can save souls and our schools!!
