I know that the LORD will maintain The cause of the afflicted, [And] justice for the poor. Psalm 140:12
After David prayed for God's rescue and protection earlier in Psalm 140, he voiced his trust in the Lord to defend the rights of those who were oppressed (including himself, since many believe he wrote this when he was being persecuted by Saul) and the cause of those who were needy.
It's easy to look around at what's happening in your life and come to the false conclusion that God doesn't care since things aren't turning out the way you'd hoped. But the name Yahweh speaks to God's immediacy, accessibility, and presence. He isn't a God who is far off or inaccessible.
And He's never too busy. He's a God who cares about the immediate needs and welfare of His people. Knowing this, how might this shape your thinking and trust in His willingness to come through for you in your current situation? Are you willing to voice that trust the way David did in prayer or written form…and then wait patiently for Him?
Yahweh is near. Call on Him during your time of trouble and He will be there for you.
Prayer: Yahweh, I call on You today just as David called on You many millennia ago. I believe that You are near and are concerned about my afflictions.
