Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put [him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. Isaiah 53:10 KJV

Your salvation is as solid as the Rock of Gibraltar. Even more so, coming from the God who created the Rock of Gibraltar.

When Isaiah prophesied of God’s “righteous Servant” (53:11), he knew only a fraction of what we do today. By inspiration, the great prophet described a Messiah who would suffer terribly before enjoying the fruit of His work. We look back on the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and understand exactly what Isaiah saw only in a distant vision: God the Father “bruised” His own Son on the cross. Jesus was “put…to grief” to pay the penalty for sin. His soul was an “offering,” the perfect and final example of the old sacrificial system. But Jesus would return to life and “see His offspring,” the hundreds of millions, if not billions, of people who would put their faith in Him for salvation.

All of this was by God’s plan, His “determinate counsel and foreknowledge,” to quote Peter’s sermon at Pentecost (Acts 2:23). Nothing could have kept Jesus from going to the cross. Nothing will stop Him from seeing your salvation through eternity. “This pleases the all-knowing, all-powerful creator God we serve.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’m so glad for Your pleasure in my salvation. May I please You in return.

Luke 15:10; "In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
