why do people reject jesus

So you admit that the judgment will happen AFTER death. The only way you can reconcile your previous statements with this is to say you believe one can still be saved after death. However, this teaching is not Scriptural and actually has more to do with Roman Catholicism.

Tis just one more of your unfounded opinions. Kinda like the spiritual gifts of speaking in tongues and prophecy have ceased.

The original point I made was that you were confusing the beliefs of the unitarian beliefs with the beliefs of UR and to be honest with you I really don't see any need to continue it is obviously you have a hard time being corrected nor does it seem you will study UR enough to know the difference.

However there is enough posted for others to read and discern.

Except there was no confusion whatsoever. Universalism as a whole simply means one believes everybody will go to Heave and there is no eternal Hell (and some even take it to the extreme to say no Hell at all). Unitarianism and Trinitarianism had not entered the picture until you brought it up.

Although, I no longer believe Joe to be a Trinitarian as he openly denied the doctrine and his explanation of Jesus is not Biblical. Because of this, I now see how he fits into neither category.

Let's see who is unfounded...

CESSATIONISM
1) Belief that was held by the early Church as well as the Reformed Church all the way up until January 1st 1901
2) What the vast majority of Christians cling to
3) Scripture shows no reason to believe they are still around
4) Scripture teaches they will end before the end times are upon us
5) It is only the absolute earliest writings of the NT that even mention the sign gifts. The later writings that expound upon the gifts do not mention them and even speaks of them in the past tense.

CONTINUATIONISM
1) Began on January 1, 1901 and has no real historic background with only a few exceptions...most of which were discovered to be cults.
2) Is held to by a small minority when viewing Christians as a whole
3) Have been proven false time and time again
4) Relies on misconstrued implicit teachings (vice explicit) and primarily relies on experience as its backbone

I'd say mind has a pretty good foundation dating back to the early Church. Yours began as an experiment (just over 100 years ago) by a few people and turned into a mysticism movement.

Don't to get further off track here but if you would like to continue our earlier discussion on tongues go back to that same thread and post and please post scripture rather than religious opinion.

What is the answer.

I have heard sermons that trigger deep thought. Sermons that cause changes to occur. Sermons that trigger worship. Even some sermons where the only thought you have is when will this end, I need a coffee.

I have heard testimonies that blow your socks off. Where you just wonder at the seemingly unlimited power and love of this eternal force/person/god we call Jesus. I had a dvd of some testimonies, supernatural testimonies, clearly not of this world stuff. Anyone, I showed this dvd too, had the same response, everytime. Quitness, stillness, staring at the tv after the dvd finished. These testimonies were beyond amazing, this power and love Jesus has goes beyond what I understand or have experienced.

No doubt the answer to apathy, indifference, contention, etc. Is the power and love of the creator. They are his fallen and redeemed people. He knows everyone of them. They will respond to Him if He acts.

We can't do much, but Jesus can do all things. We need to ask Him in prayer.

"From this time many of His disciples turned back and no longer followed Him." (Jn 6:66 NIV)

There was apparently an at least occasional turnover in the roster of Jesus' disciples. Even the roster of the Twelve Apostles changed when Judas Iscariot fell away. Relationship with Jesus (salvation) is not for those who need it, its for those who want it badly enough to surrender their wills and their lives to Him.
