In Mark 14: 33-34
He took Peter, James, and John with him, and he became deeply troubled and distressed. He told them, "My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.
In Luke 22:15-18
Jesus said, " I have been very eager to eat this Passover meal with you before my suffering begins. For I tell you now that I won't eat this meal again until its meaning is fulfilled in the Kingdom of God. Then he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. Then he said "Take this and share it among yourselves. For I will not drink wine again until the Kingdom of God has come."
When I read Mark 14:33-34, I found it so beautiful that Jesus was suffering so much that he wanted to die, but even then he asked to carry out only Gods will. The cup was the weight of all our sins, the weight of the world, and he was human (the son of man), he made a choice to bare them for us, even though he could have easily chosen not to. While all of his disciple were sleeping, he stayed awake and prayed to his father, not just about what he wanted, but when in the most dire pain about what God wanted. Amen!
What about Luke 22:15-18, does it relate with 22:42, and if so...how?
