Healing For Today

Properly nourishment will keep the "new man" alive, but he can be starved to death. When the new man is gone, where can the Holy Spirit stay? In the empty shell of a dead "old man"?

Is not the "new man" Jesus Christ himself?

Gal 4:6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!"

2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!

Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

LOL My friend, if its true that we are spirit, we have a soul, and we live in a body, then we are already immortal.. How does one kill a spirit? Can't!

But without feeding the spirit gets weaker and weaker and weaker. Still the Holy Spirit resides within...Waiting calling coaxing.....

I do hear you my friend but we are apart on this one. I won't attempt fill in spaces because I cannot. Only God gives the increase to you or to me.

Both the "new man" and the "old man" live in the believer until the old man is finally and completely killed. That is when the person is an overcomer as Jesus was an overcomer. We have the authority to follow whichever one we choose each time we make a choice. If we choose the wrong one, one time too many, the right one will be gone from us. This is when a believer becomes reprobate.

Ephesians 4:24
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Colossians 3:10
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

I do hear you my friend but we are apart on this one. I won't attempt fill in spaces because I cannot. Only God gives the increase to you or to me.
Of course my friend...He gives increase by His Word. He feeds us by His Word

Wouldn't that describe any unbeliever?
How would one ever believe if that was the case?
Is the new man bound by events in time or is he eternal?

I don't see myself as a "new and old" man but an eternal creature (created in Christ) under assault by a temporary being called the old man or ego.

Ephesians 4:24
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Colossians 3:10
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Brother Bendito, how would you describe that we put on the new man? Does it mean Jesus Christ is slowly making his way into heart?

Well, for a start, we can look at another translation...
Ephesians 4:24 (CJB)
24 and clothe yourselves with the new nature created to be godly, which expresses itself in the righteousness and holiness that flow from the truth.

Colossians 3:10 (CJB)
10 and have put on the new self, which is continually being renewed in fuller and fuller knowledge, closer and closer to the image of its Creator.

Our old nature (the old man) is dead. Now we put on the new nature, the nature of God. We walk in obedience to love, light being imitators of God, learning to be like HIM

Cool brother, I can give you my personal belief on this subject. As I had meditated this same scriptures several years ago, and while I was thinking on this the Lord said to me, "Stop trying to be the man you are not, and start acting like the man you already are". I thought to myself what man is it that I am not? The man I am not is the person that is slowly becoming like Jesus Christ!
We are already like him as Christ in us never changes since he is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Isn't that just like "faith" that when we pray "we believe we have already received what we prayed for", The believing (faith) part is that you already have it, not that you will have it someday. Putting on the Lord Jesus Christ is done by faith. If I believe I am slowly becoming like Jesus, I will never get there. Being renewed in "knowledge" causes one to put on Christ after you see the image of Christ contained in the Word of God. The word "knowledge" here is epignosis which the knowledge one gets when God the Father by the Holy Spirit reveals his Word to us, and we see inside it's contents. We shall be like him after we see him which would be "after the image of him" Our new heart (new creation) was created after the image of him who created him (us) which is Jesus Christ.(the Word)

Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

The real acid test that proves to us is in the fruit we bear, and in our actions we show forth as this new man has taken the ascendancy over all we do and say. The fruit we bear does not come from the person, but from the seed (Word of God) which is Jesus Christ. My actions are based on what I see inside the Word of God. Revelation of the Word (understanding) is seeing into its contests, and inside the contents dwells all the fullness of the Godhead.

Col 2:9 For in him (Christ) dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily;

Putting on the Lord Jesus Christ comes only after we see who we really are!!
This next scripture is talking about a man who is only a hearer of the Word and not a doer, but we also look at and see what must be done for us to be a doer of the Word.

James 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:(mirror)
James 1:24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

When I look into a natural mirror, the face I see is mine, but when I look into the mirror of the Word of God I also see my self, but the person I see in me is Jesus Christ.
If I know and see this in me that causes me, and my actions, and words to be what Jesus is doing and speaking through me.

The ability to let Christ in me to rule in my life comes from my knowing, understanding, and seeing this person in me.

2Cor 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
