Where do you get that idea from the Word?

In over 50 verses I posted in the link to the thread I posted.

But all comes down to... do you believe in the resurrection?

What gets resurrected? Not our bodies... so what's left? Only our spirit.

I don't think we will necessarily know or care. We are asleep. Even if we weren't... it's our old body.
There is no smell, no pain, we may not even be aware of where we are. So what's cruel about it?

Ok I found that thread you are talking about...I suggest more study on the subject. For example. When you were born again, was it your body that died and was born again? No It was your spirit. You are a spirit, you have a soul and you live in a body. The body dies, is buried, but your spirit does not die. It goes to be with the Lord. So my dear friend....prove me wrong.

Well, I'm not here to "prove you wrong". I would rather that we grow and learn the truth together.
I have been wrong about things and probably will be again. But in any case... I agree with what you have said here.
Our spirit does not die. The only thing we seem to disagree on here is.. the timing. I believe we are resurrected on the
"last day".

Yup...So here's the question.....If Jesus took all those that were in Paradise/ Abraham's Bosom out of there and brought them to the Father, then hell enlarged, Where is paradise today? The Word says that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. That being the case.....When one dies he does not go to a temporary place that is no longer there but he goes to heaven, to be with the Lord. From what I understand of the Word, hell is still there but it fills the space where paradise was.

Paradise (or the part of Hades/hell/grave that had been reserved for the righteous) is closed, as all believers in death go to Jesus in heaven. Since Jesus freed all the OT believers to go with Him to heaven, every believer now at death goes to be with them. So, to be absent from the body means that the body dies, and returns to dust because our spirit that makes the body alive has left.

The place we call hell or Hades or Sheol or the grave is where the unrighteous dead remain until Judgment Day. It has no relation to the hell spoken of as the place of final judgment of the unrighteous, that lake of fire. That detail is where so many people get confused.
