How can one claim to be perfect?

God is the most humble and yet He is perfect.
Being truly humble is a sign of perfection. But your argument is 100% valid with a creation. If a creation claims to be perfect, it is not evidence of humility.
Humility is at the core of Christianity. Pride the core of satanism.

So, if we espouse to be perfect we better come with a good defense. In Peace's defense, he does come with scripture. A lot of it. I don't agree with his interpretation of it all. But nobody can doubt that in his mind, he is convinced. He is not trying to deceive anyone. He truly believes it. His intentions are therefore good. I am judging you at Peace , as that is what we are called to do.
As you have been unable to persuade me to go back into sin, what does that say about your theology?

A humble man is a man who has all of his "cares" cast upon the Lord. He worries about nothing (no fear)

1Pe 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
1Pe 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

A humble man will be exalted by God, and not by man as he knows it is the praise of God that matters, and not the praise that comes from man.

Rom 2:29 But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God. (ESV)

In post #16 you wrote two descriptions of "stating"
They were...
"One who brags on what they did are making a boastful noise such as look at me, I am somebody to behold.
One stating the facts or telling it like it is"
But then you had to add...
" - well again just bringing attention unto them selves in a more politically correct way".
You seem to be unable to differentiate one speaking truth and one just self glorifying.
You seem to be unable to cope with one stating the fact that they are perfect.
Are you looking for a way to preserve imperfection?

And you can't stay on topic! :)
Both had nothing to do with being perfect. You added this.

You said you don't boast on you good doings but you just tell the facts.
That's nothing to do with being perfect.

Boast makes a show of it.
Just telling the facts makes it known in a more subtle and direct way.

I don't care how many poor people you help. It's not any of my business but what is my business is how many I help.

Now I can boast on what the Lord did, such as bring me more resources to meet a need but not on what I did.

Those who go on and on and on on all they do as in see how much I love God, have gotten their reward already.

Good works don't show love
Love shows good works.
Blessings

That's because I'm answering your question.

You will have to supply where I stated that.

Boast makes a show of it.
Just telling the facts makes it known in a more subtle and direct way.
Same as you said before, before adding your nullifier...".- well again just bringing attention unto them selves in a more politically correct way".
Had you left that off, we would be in agreement, but you don't believe stated facts on perfection.
You are attempting to bully the messenger.

I don't care how many poor people you help. It's not any of my business but what is my business is how many I help.
Now I can boast on what the Lord did, such as bring me more resources to meet a need but not on what I did.
Those who go on and on and on, on all they do, as in "see how much I love God", have gotten their reward already.
So you CAN tell the difference between boasting, and glorifying God for His amazing grace, love, and provision.
Why not just leave it at that?

Good works don't show love
Love shows good works.
Good works DO show love.

As you have been unable to persuade me to go back into sin, what does that say about your theology?
*I have been unable to help you grasp you have and currently are in sin. I have not at anytime wanted you to go back into sin.

If I am "still in sin", it manifests that I have not repented of sin, and that I don't have the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Which God gives to those who DO repent, (Acts 2:38)
It means I am not a child of God because I am still bringing forth evil fruit...which God's seed is incapable of doing. (1 John 3:9)
It means that I am a heretic for my espousal of the doctrine which is according to Godliness, (1 Tim 6:30), and of my testimony of the grace of God in my life.
It means that obedience to God is a sin.
Thankfully. to God, none of those things IS manifested in my life.
Thankfully too, the gifts of God are still available to you, and all others who will decide to serve God, instead of serving sin.
Don't waste any time, as no man knows how long his life will be.
