Jesus is the word of God.... NOT the Bible.

Y'all getting way to heated over this, I am going to say it one last time before I am done commenting on this thread, Jesus is the word of God as is explained in Revelation 19:13 and John 1:1-14. I believe that the Bible is inspired by God, and y'all can keep throwing scriptures at me that say "all scripture is God breathed" that just means inspired, the Bible is inspired by God. I'm not getting down on the scripture or saying that we can't trust what the Bible is saying, so please don't get it twisted. The men who wrote the books and epistles in the Bible were definitely inspired by God, but they are not Gods word, Jesus is. I am just your normal average everyday Christian; I am just trying to state a fact that we should not call the whole entire Bible the Word of God, because like it says, that is Jesus' title, not the Bibles. I believe what the Bible says, I believe that Moses led the Israelite's out of Egypt, I believe Noah built the arc, I am not arguing with the knowledge that is in the Bible, it is good and credible, the only thing I am saying is that we need to not call it the Word of God, because, again, that is Jesus' title.

I gave examples of Jesus questioning the infallibility of Moses, which are above if you guys would like to go back and look at them, and again me doing that is not trying to say that we can't trust Moses, and what he says, Moses brought the Ten Commandments down from the Mountain, I do not think he is in over his head, I think that we should take in what he says, just like we should anyone else, but we should also bring it right back down to the one who saves us, The Word of God, (Jesus). Jesus even says in the quote that I put above that Moses gave the law of divorcement to them, not God, for those who didn't look, In Matthew 19:3-8

3 "Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?" 4 "Haven't you read", He replied, "that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female, 5 and said 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? 6 So they are no longer two, but one. So therefore what God has joined together let no man separate." 7 "Why then," they asked, "did Moses command that a man may give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?" 8 Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning."

The point of me quoting this passage is to show you that not all things in the Bible are inspired by God, unless God just somehow changed his mind, but I don't see that happening because Jesus is the son of God and it says that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, Hebrews 13:8. If Jesus is the son of God then that would mean, to me at least; that God would be that way as well.

Again, all my intention was with this post was to just get people to start calling Jesus by his right name, not the Bible. I have no ill intent, just some thoughts.

Peace and Blessings, Lily

@Bendito,
If you could show me where my errors are you would remedy a problem. It's easy to present scripture without knowledge, as you do, but you can't explain your position.
I've given you many scriptures in discussing several subjects with you sir....To all of them you accuse me of not understanding, you accuse me of misquoting verses without ever reading the verses, without ever even thinking about them. You are right in your own eyes and there is NO reasoning with you. So....I gave you a warning. You WILL answer for every word you speak or write.....Stubbornness is as the sin of idolatry Put that aside and get together with the Word.

I no longer discuss anything with you. Remember?

The problem is you give me scriptures that I see from my perspective. I need your perspective/revelation in explanation to give me and understanding of the scriptures in your view. If I only see it my way, I can't see it from your because I 've not received your understanding. That's why I've ask you to explain what the scriptures mean from your view. When I send you scriptures, I,ve asked you your thoughts on the meaning, but you will not explain your understanding and respond with evil speaking. I've been asking from the time I've started on this site; mainly about scriptures we disagree on. Christ is patient and Longsuffering - you are short of patience and are not trying to calaborate in humility. I only know you through your character in your writing and you seem not to humble yourself. I'm seeking understanding with you (an olive branch) and I will continue because you are not my problem and I don't fight with you cause your flesh and blood.
Let's figure this out in Jesus Christ name. God Bless You.

'Word of God' is by no means the only expression in the Bible which is used in more than one way. 'Son(s) of God', 'day', 'all'...

@Bendito,
I see it all from the position of trying to reason with you.

Isaiah 1:18
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord:
though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

This is God's will for every believer in Him. Why you refuse to reason and explain your thoughts behind the scriptures you post is not reasoning. Why you feel the need to hide behind reviling members on this forum and not humble yourself explains why you don't understand. The Spirit does not give His knowledge in the character you are trampling over His people in verbally. It appears your position on this forum is to sling and revile people with carnal methods as Jesus did not.

1 Peter 2:23
Who, when Jesus was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

1 Corinthians 6:10
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

What you have written here is you judging and reviling. I rebuke you in Jesus name. And I refuse your evil words.

@Bendito,
You told me one day, you could not write that day because you were being affect spiritually. I wrote you back and encouraged you to continue and get past the devil trying to keep you in a place. My encouragement helped you get through that darkness you were experiencing that day and you stared writing again that day. The rejection of my peace offering will not hinder my calling in Christ to present truth. Many people will read these posts for years to come. I will be judged to be free of any reviling. As we continue to post the character of truth will continue to be seen. Jesus is the judge.

Try seeing the Word from God's point of view instead of yours.

keep in mind those with out spiritual eyes can not do this, not accusing anyone or judging anyone just stating scripture.

1 Corinthians 2:14
The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

Lily, dear one, you know Him, the Word. Jesus IS the word of God. What is also at issue is whether the Bible yet contains all the word of God. Obviously it comes short of that, as John put it the world would not have contained the books that should be written of all Jesus said and did. So most of what we have of that is captured in the pages of the Bible. Of course the Bible is not Jesus. Only Jesus is Jesus, and God confirms He is the Word of God. But for us disciples not sitting listening to fresh sermons from Jesus as of old, what we have is the written scriptures that "embody" Jesus as much as possible apart from being living witnesses who actually handled Jesus in the flesh. The Holy Spirit confirms and adds more day by day, through personal increase of knowledge and experiences. The Bible texts stand in for Jesus, and so does the Holy Spirit fill in any gaps we need completed on a daily basis.

Thank you Sis for this topic. Every topic raised is another opportunity to fine tune beliefs. I agree that JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD. The Bible contains the currently revealed and recorded word of God accepted as canon. As for content then, it is acceptable to regard the Bible as the "word of God" on the basis of recognized inspiration from God. If all we have is what thousands of denominations claim Jesus represents as the "word of God", then the world is highly confused with no coordinated basis of knowing the truth.

I would like to thank you for your thoughts, they have been helpful in this topic, but I am confused on why exactly they both get to be called the Word of God when that is clearly a title for Jesus. I guess I am just trying to figure out how and why the Bible is referred to as the Word of God, if I am inspired by the Holy spirit does that make me the Word of God? I would surely not think so, because God is not speaking through me, he is just inspiring me to speak on his behalf. I would love if you could share your thoughts.

Peace and Blessings, Lily

When a preacher expounds the gospel in 30 minutes before a crowd, and many are saved on the strength of a fraction of the word of God presented, is not that preacher credited as a preacher of the word of God? That preacher is considered the ambassador of Christ. I believe the feet of the preachers are blessed as deliverers of the word of God, presenting the saving power of Jesus the Christ of God. Once Jesus comes into a life, the Word of God is present, though not completely revealed or comprehended.
