Born again and Baptism, What's the connection?

A true believer and one baptized by the Holy Spirit is saved, inside or outside of water. Water baptism requires man's work of many kinds. GOD says we are saved by grace through faith and not of works. Baptism by the Holy Spirit (Born Again) is of God and what counts!

Mark 16:1 "Now when the Sabbath was post, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Salome brought spices , that they might come and anoint Him. " I don't think that's the passage you're talking about.

Sorry -- I got posts out of order. # 24 and 25 were in response to #22.
No, for some reason it had the verse incorrect. The passage is Mark 16:16.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; (Mk. 16:16 KJV)

This is the comment that I was questioning.
Well, the phrase "born again" refers to the Jews or Israel. The Gentiles are not spoken of as being born again, What does it mean to be born? Does it not mean to come to life?

Butch where do you get this?
Jesus said " you must be born again". This is the ONLY way to get to heaven...He meant this for all and for all time, just not the Jew!

You need to look at Galations 3:8 -- "And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the Gospel to Abraham beforehand, ...." And there is another passage that says that because the Jews rejected the message of salvation, that salvation was extended to the Gentiles. And there Will be another future time for the unrepenting Jews to come accept Jesus Christ as their Promised Messiah -- that will be during the 7 yrs. of tribulation.

Everyone is born physically -- Nicodemus was told that a person needs to be born Again After being born the first time. Being born Again means Spiritually.

I know Lots and Lots of 'Gentiles' like myself , who've been born Again spiritually.

So -- from Your perspective how are 'us Gentiles' being spoken Of in respect to Our salvation status.

I get it from the Scriptures, in context. Jesus said He had only come to the Jews. Thus, His ministry was to the Jews. The kingdom was promised to the Jews. Nicodemus, who was an Israelite, believed that he would inherit the promises because he was the seed of Abraham, he was born of Abraham. Jesus is correcting his misunderstanding. It is not the physical seed of Abraham who will receive the promises. Jesus tells Nicodemus that his physical birth is not sufficient to gain him access to the kingdom, he will need to be born again.

If you search the Scriptures you'll find that the phrase, "born again" is only used in reference to Israel or the Jews. But, it's for the kingdom, not Heaven. People don't go to Heaven.

I would ask you, where do you get the idea that the phrase "born again" refers to all people?

I have no answer for your kind of thinking if only Jews can be born again, I guess the rest of us are just doomed!

Do the search. See if you find the phrase "born again" use of Gentiles. If not then maybe you're misunderstanding what the phrase means. Maybe it doesn't mean what you think it means.
