I find it so hard to believe that a "Child of God" will promote the reading of a book more strongly than reading "The Book". That is strange to me.

As I perceive so far, I have notice the references of the Word of God is considered "Low to you" by your comment. So this thread is on "The Mark" referring to people who view "apostasy" in high honor instead of "Holy Scripture".

The OT was recorded, the NT was recorded, Revelation was the 'Final Book'
The Bible cannot be added to or any taken away, it is God's Word for all generations.
It was created to record events God chose so as to guide mankind what is right and what is not.
It was recorded to show the evil in sin and how sin can be forgiven, we do not have to die to sin.
God used His Word to prophesy what would happen in the future, through prophets, apostles and Jesus, God the Son.
The books were canonised, not one dot ot tittle is to change.
The Word is Truth, Truth is in the Word, the Truth will set us Free

Well we know GOD cannot "lie or deny" himself. So who are you going to believe, or would you like to believe, His "Written WORD", [living Word := "The Word becoming flesh"], [ The Reveal Word of God]. Or the words that comes forth from a plain ordinary man that cannot give you eternal life or forgive you of your sins and wash you white as snow. What pathway will you take? The narrow or the Wide?

Going back to the main topic of this thread I have to say that I agree with this. The Bible must be our supreme authority, be Aude is been tested, is been proven, has survived through all this year's of persecution, because it is a word of God. Secondary can be pleased "some" Christian based books, but we need to be very careful on how we choose them and what we choose to believe. I think that the Holy Spirit must be the one guiding us to choose and descent what kind of Christian books we need to read. It is the same when we listen to a sermon. We need to descern through the Spirit which part we need to believe and accept from what we listen and compare it with the highest authority that is the word of God. I would also recommend Christian literature only to people who have been some time in the faith and know by experience how to descern good from evil. To new believers it is only the Bible, so that they can build a proper foundation. And obviously the Bible needs to accompany us always to the end, because it is alive and this is what we need to be fed of.I have notice through out my years in Christ, I have realize Christian writers promote themselves and their words about God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, marriage and money. They make a lot of money as a whole by doing so. And if you ask them where did they get the information to write "THEIR" book, their answer: "The Bible". The wise will understand what I just said. We know already that the greatest problems occurred when men tried to take away the Bible as the main authority and put their own ideas ( not based on scripture ) above it. As it happened in the so called " dark ages " when it was prohibited to have or read the Bible for the common person. Praise be to God that He stirred the spirit of certain people to stand behind His word and translate it, so that everyone can have it.

Each soul is responsible for their words, thoughts and actions, each soul is responsible for their own sins, each soul is responsible for their own destiny, be it eternal life or eternal death.
I do not have to look at the world, they are the lost souls, they do not know what sin is, they do not know how devastating it is, so many don't want to know, they wonder around, following each other, like sheep without a shepherd.
You say, 'even their churches are in disarray'. Your comment is a little misleading my friend. The lost souls do not have a church, the lost souls have the devil has their father, they belong to sin, the world and the devil.
Now if you are referring to the churches in the world, you are probably referring to the kuriakon, the church building, a word introduced by the RCC but IS NOT in scripture.
If however you are referring to the church of saved souls, the church of born-again believers, they are the ekklesia, the only true church, the bride of Christ, which includes, male and female, children and elderly, able bodied and disabled, regardless of age, colour, tongue or country they live.
Yes brother the 'church' is in disarray, I agree with this, saved souls are going to places of worship, they call church which is just a building, they, the ekklesia, come together with none believers yet still believe they are a church. Only the saved souls are the church.
What I have written about The Word, the written Word in Post #46 is accurate and True to The Word. Sadly you have become misguided on this topic.

Do you go to church? Does a pastor preach a sermon? Do we listen to his sermon and are benefited from it? Yes. The same with Christian books. It's like you're reading sermons, kind of. Or you'll read their testimony, or something.
Thing is.....holly wood movies...or fictional books. I mean, if Christians watch holy wood movies or read fictional books, then why rebuke a Christian book written by a Christian?
Also, some Christians have never read the Bible, or barely do. Christian books written by Christians are designed to get the reader into the Bible, MORE. Ultimately, nothing replaces the Bible.

Yes, you are right in what you are saying. The problem is when the Christians don't make up time to read their Bible and only stick with the book. It is good to read Christian books, we just mustn't make our ultimate foundation on them, but on the Bible. I believe that each person needs to have his own revelation from the Bible, obviously given to him by God.
What we get from a book, or from a preacher can also touch us and help us for that specific moment, but every person needs to have also his own personal experience and revelation that Jesus is Christ, that Jesus is the Lord of his life.

this is two sided, one the books that I read helped me understand things in the bible better. Actually had a huge influence on me learning my gifts,,,
, did I mention the Author of this book gives 100% of his book money away to to participate in the Kingdom of God (over 10million to date)
thats right he gives to missionaries spreading the word in un reached people groups, he gives to orphanages, he gives to prisons, all in the name of Christ..
Now I do understand the other side of this, and we have many greedy preachers that write books for profit and there life style show its, this is not-biblical they use there church to promote the books. this is just wrong and I think its what you had in mind when posted. Just wanted to share the other side of the story that is not so common yet it does exist
