The Gospel of Jesus Christ is not meant for everyone, for many cannot receive it, no matter how hard they may try!

No mind this ok, just thought about a commercial about a dog food that we as kids song in the "neighborhood"
my Dog is Bigger than your Dog" because He eats " Ken-L Ration" I should have used the clip from Kings when Elijah tease Jezebel prophets. for flavor. Sorry for that. Sometimes i do use bad taste in word and phrases. "reading Martin Luther, John Knox, William Tyndale, and John Hus, and such Reformers will leave a after mask on you. and surely that "Thomas Aguinas" Oh, let us not forget "Jesus" LOL! He got bold with his words also too! smile, I will, He did say: everything i speak comes from the Father! "Hallelujah"

Martin who, John who, William who?

Jesus - now you are talking

This song and melody and words always blows me away. and this 1st time i heard it, it felt like I left this world! I never felt such anointing I thought , it was time! I put my shoes on my coat and hat!

And Jesus said:

American Standard Version
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast your pearls before the swine, lest haply they trample them under their feet, and turn and rend you.

Douay-Rheims Bible
Give not that which is holy to dogs; neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turning upon you, they tear you.

Darby Bible Translation
Give not that which is holy to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before the swine, lest they trample them with their feet, and turning round rend you.

And He said: "My Sheep" knows My voice and they will Not follow another. I know them and they know me.

The Gospel unto salvation Is sufficient for All -- though not all will accept Him. Only God knows who will or who won't.

"The Gospel of Jesus Christ is not meant for everyone,"

yet we are told to preach it to everyone, not everyone will receive it, but that does not mean we are not supposed to proclaim it to everyone, it is meant for everyone to here that is for sure !!

Mark 16:15
And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.

Matthew 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Hi Dave, Jesus told the parable of the lost sheep, where the shepherd searched high and low to find it. He also said somewhere that his sheep hear his voice. When someone speaks out the gospel, they speak out the Words of Jesus. We speak them out into the world, to be heard by all the world, but we speak them out predominantly to the lost sheep and, when they hear them, they recognise the voice of the shepherd and respond. Others hear them but, to them, they make no sense. I hope this makes sense. Bless you.

The gospel is for everyone as God wants none to perish. All i have to do is believe Jesus died for my sins. It is sovereign grace from God and it is the Father Who draws us to Jesus. My part is to be obedient in telling others this good news.

@Trevor -- A 'lost' sheep belongs to someone -- the shepherd -- sheep occasionally stray from the herd but they recognize the voice of the shepherd and will respond positiviley. So I think that parable and passage was being misapplied a bit.
The thing Is, We do not know who any of the lost sheep Are in This world. Salvation was extended to the Gentile world After first being given to Israel / Jews 1st. God is the One and only One who knows who His sheep Are. So -- yes, we Are to minister / share the Gospel unto salvation with anyone who is willing to listen.

To the Jews 1st and Also to the Greeks / Gentiles = to Everyone -- the 7 yr tribulation period is still ahead and that is when God will Again deal with the non-accepting Jews. His Church / all born again believers/ will be raptured up to meet Jesus in the air and to be with Him forever.

It seems there are differing causes for "blindness" (spiritual blindness).

God Himself.
John 12:37; But though He had performed so many signs before them, yet they were not believing in Him.
John 12:38; This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet which he spoke: “Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
John 12:39; For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again, -- ( see Isaiah 32 )
John 12:40; “He has blinded their eyes and He hardened their heart, so that they would not see with their eyes and perceive with their heart, and be converted and I heal them.
John 12:41; These things Isaiah said because he saw His glory, and he spoke of Him.

Satan.
2Cor 4:3; And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
2Cor 4:4; in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Our own personal choices.
1Jn 2:10; The one who loves his brother abides in the Light and there is no cause for stumbling in him.
1Jn 2:11; But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

Not everyone agrees on this, but I believe we are all born spiritually blind, the passage below is talking about physical blindness, but I think it still applies.
John 9:1; As He passed by, He saw a man blind from birth.
John 9:2; And His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?”
John 9:3; Jesus answered, “It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him.
John 9:4; We must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work.

I've always wondered about the question the disciples ask here. "Who sinned"? How could the man sin before he was born?
In any case, the man was blind from birth. I believe we all are. Jesus healed this man, and He heals some of us, if we are willing to let Him.

Yes, we Are all born spiritually blind / dead. But physically Alive.

The sovereignty of God is mysterious and reassuring -- God Does have The biggest picture in place. He Is the creator of everything. And He works with individuals as He sees fit -- for His glory

And there Are many things we don't Have to 'understand' but simply accept by Faith.

seems Jesus said we just have to open the door when he knocks sounds like a personal responsibilty, we have to be intentional and willingly. The gospel can and does change anyone who accepts it

Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.

Correctly said: "if anyone "Hears"! Who ever has the "ears" to "Hear"! How can a person "open" a door if that person cannot hear the knock or cannot hear the voice. Just because one person heard it does not mean the person standing beside that person heard the knock. Only he that has the ears to hear can hear the knock or the call, but the calling went out unto the whole world.

The Holy Spirit is our 'ears'. The Holy Spirit does the convicting. And God has given us His Word to read / share. The Holy Spirit works through His Word. And our Sharing His Word. And we do Not 'force feed' Scripture.

(Jeremiah).

1Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.
2And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely.
3O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.
4Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God.
5I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.

6Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.
7How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses.
8They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour's wife.
9Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
10Go ye up upon her walls, and destroy; but make not a full end: take away her battlements; for they are not the LORD'S.
11For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the LORD.
12They have belied the LORD, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:
13And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them: thus shall it be done unto them.
Judgment Proclaimed
14Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.
15Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.
16Their quiver is as an open sepulchre, they are all mighty men.
17And they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword.
18Nevertheless in those days, saith the LORD, I will not make a full end with you. 19And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.
20Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,

21Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:
22Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?
23But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.
24Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
25Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.
26For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.
27As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.
28They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.
29Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
30A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;
31The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

There's a reason you chose to share that particular chapter in Jeremiah. !?!?

9The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and false wonder, 10and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. 11For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, 12in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness.
