Why would it be idol worship to worship Jesus. Jesus is part of the Godhead. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. When we get saved the entire Godhead lives in us they are one. Notice when baptized they say in the name of the "Father, Son, and Holy Spirit," there are no plural forms all singular they are one. We worship Jesus, we are worshipping the Father and Son also.
