ATTENTION - WHAT DO YOU 'SEE' ?

Greetings all,

a BIG thank you for all your input!

forgive me please for taking so long to continue this thread. A couple of 'health issues/complications" had me in an even less useful position than my 'normal'.
Interestingly though, i did discover many wonderful 'things' about the human body and can only marvel at the complexity of design and the importance of all things working together for good, in order that the body function as 'planned' by our Maker.

-----------------

the 'brick' or building stone, or as one suggested, projectile, is more than 'what meets the eye' (one certainly would not wants any pictured items making contact with the eye with any velocity! )

If we use the average brick as an example, what is it? Yes, it can be used for many things but what is it?

When we use words, either written, typed or spoken, words have specific meanings. Often we use words with little or no knowledge of what the words might actually mean, especially if run together with other words, making a sentence or paragraph or even a letter or book. We have learnt a certain way to 'use' words according to our learning. Sometimes we can use word for good... and sometimes for bad.

the brick....
what if i were to explain a brick to you as: SiO2 + Al2O3 + Fe2O3 + MgO + CaO + P2O5 + TiO2 + MnO + K2O + Na2O + SO3 ?
There's a lot of Oxygen in a brick! Some silicon, aluminum, iron, magnesium, calcium... etc

One producer might want to know, for example, what the other producer's brick consists of.

On another note, Meleke limestone is a fairly common 'stone' used in and around the Jerusalem area and regions. More a fossilized crustacean mix than the average 'red brick'. Interesting stuff. Quite workable and 'soft' when first quarried but sets hard and can be polished as it dries (exposed to air)

So... where am i going with all this?

---------------
You all kindly gave 'answers' for "what is it" and as stated originally, no correct answers or incorrect.

Looking again at words....

we read or write, hear or say. When it comes to the words we have in our Bibles, or even the Hebrew or Greek texts, what are the words 'made of' ?
Where did they come from?

We generally use English here at TalkJesus. When we use English words, no matter what translation, we can find we can get into all sorts of a flap over what the words used actually mean... or, what they are made of... "what is it?"

I shall stop here but please 'chew it over' and we can continue some more, if you are interested?

Bless you ....><>

Hello @Br Bear,

Interesting! It shows that there is much more than meets the eye to the objects we see, or to the words that we read, so that everything is worth a little investigation, and not just accepted at face value. Yes?

One of the photographs showed a rock which looked as though it had been on a river bed, or stream, for it was worn and smoothly curved as though having been exposed to the elements and the action of water flowing over it over a long period of time. Yet what fused the particles of dust together to produce that rock, what minerals and differing matter lie within it, was it produced by volcanic activity, etc., It is so much more satisfying to do this, than just accept what presents itself before the eye. The same thing is true of the word of God, I am so blessed by the journeys of discovery I go on, by searching into the meaning of the words used, the context in which they come, and comparing scripture with scripture.

Oh it is so good to have you back. :)

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

Hello again @Br. Bear,

Yes please.

What are the pictures of?

Another way to ask, pick a letter, A to F, and,
What is it?

Before going further, i ask that some of you give one or two brief answers.
There is no right or wrong / incorrect or correct answer, so don't get too concerned about what other's might think.

for example,

what is it?

you don't have to answer for every picture. Best you don't. And no collective answers, please.
One answer per picture unless you answer the first question only,
What are the pictures of?

Title of thread coming soon and some more, possibly interesting dialogue, from me?

Bless you all ....><>

What good is fake brick?

It is decorative paneling for those liking the brick look but dont want to pay the real brick prices and installation for said. Its simple aesthetics.
I think you've summed up 99.999999% of both Christians and Religions.
