WE HAVE TO EAT JESUS

Not open for further replies.
Luke 11:3 Give us each day our daily bread.

Jesus says for us to pray, give us each day our daily bread. That is having Jesus every day, his words, his teachings. We are to eat Jesus every day, which means to obey every day.

John 6:58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever.”

Jesus says he who “feeds on this bread.” That is not a onetime thing. We are to eat every day. We are to obey every day.

I'm sure you agree, Jonathon_Gale...
Yeah, I'll just add that "daily bread" was a reference of the manna from heaven, in the wilderness the Israelites were told to go out and gather their portion of food supply, and the manna was spoiled overnight, so they had to do that every day except Sabbath day, and that lasted for 40 years. This shows how God provides as Jehovah Jireh, our provider. What we need is out there, but not served to us on a silver platter, we have to go out and get it. Seek, and you shall find.

Jesus is our food that we eat every day, by obeying him every day...he is the Sabbath and all special days. We don't observe special days, we observe Jesus all day every day.

Unfortunately not so for a large portion of the congregation who have compartmentalized their lives based on this false "sacre-secular" dichotomy. Charles Spurgeon said, "to a man who lives unto God, nothing is secular, everything is sacred."If you're wise enough to see that a lot of modern ideologies are religous cults in nature, then it's really sad that those cultists understand this much better than most Christians do, they bring their ideologies into schools, businesses, sports, entertainment, even churches, that's why this demonic spirit of lawlessness has permeated into all aspects of society, and the whole western civilization is in decline.

Interesting, not sure I understand everything that you said though. Could you give some examples?

Socialism, environmentalism, humanism, intersectionalism, and transgenderism in recent years, you name it, all demonic cults in essence. Lots of these activists are indoctrinated with these junk in college. Many people have naively assumes that it was just a phase, once they graduate and enter the work force, life will teach them a lesson and they will go back to normal, but instead, they don’t keep their belief to themselves, they’ve brought these ideologies into all kinds of institutions and corrupted those institutions. Church as the salt and light are supposed to recognize this demonic spirit and lead the fight to push back, but all we’ve heard is crickets.

We have to eat Jesus.

That is something WE HAVE TO DO.

NO ONE will get in Jesus and Jesus in you UNLESS YOU EAT HIM FIRST.

How do you eat Jesus to get saved and stay saved?

Eating and drinking are metaphors used invarious parables to indicate doing the will of our Father in heaven.

While the milk of the word teaches us God is gracious . . meat is used to show one has been empowered to do the will of God.(both are needed to will and do

Hebrews 5:13For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

1 Peter 2:2-3 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

I am reminded of Philippians 2 :13 God working in us to both will the milk of the word, and do, the meat ,

John 4:31-34 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

As a testimony to the parable in John 6 , Eat my flesh and drink my blood. David is used to represent the gospel . in chains or imprisoned in the strong hold of the enemy. There the Lord gave David a thirst for hearing the gospel using water as a metaphor to represent blood . God had sent three mighty men (three indicating the end of a matter )

Note. . . . (words in gray) my added comment

1 Chronicles 11:16-20 And David was then in the hold, and the Philistines' garrison was then at Bethlehem. And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, (the city of bread) that is at the gate! ( water gate same well Jesus met the woman. . it as a doctrine states that it is only through the water of God’s word that we can be clean). And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem,(city of bread) that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the Lord. And said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mightiest.

The three men empowered by the meat of the word poured out their own spiritual life in jeopardy of their own spirit life.

A foreshadow of Christ working in the Son of man pouring out his love in jeopardy of his Holy Spirit .

Similar to the wedding supper . . . water into wine the blood of grapes

I already addressed the scriptures you used. According to you we eat the bread from heaven by just believing. Well that is not correct. Jesus says we don't live on bread alone but on every word of God. So you want to maintain that you eat the bread from heaven by just believing he is the Christ?
By every word of God, is believing His words that by believing in Him is how you have eternal life. That is what is called obeying the gospel by believing the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Good News to man.

It is by the grace of God we have been saved by believing in Jesus Christ therefore you limiting works to purification works is not the whole truth when you cannot do anything to earn that free gift of eternal life. Indeed, our believing in Him is a work of the Father and so a miracle in reality in why we should take stock in His words that by believing His words which is by believing in Him is how we have eternal life. Amen.

Thanks for explaining, I agree. Such evil at work.

You just have to throw in the part that Calvin teaches, but the Bible teaches nowhere.
If you could show from the scriptures that no one can believe and obey God, then I would believe it, but it is nowhere.
God does not save unbelievers while they are still unbelievers.
Do you understand what I mean?

Thanks for your explanation and discussion in this thread. I do want to say though, you have not made it clear to me how you drink and eat Jesus. Could you tell me exactly how you do that?

By every word of God, is believing His words that by believing in Him is how you have eternal life.
Believing is not enough, so says Jesus. "Blessed rather are those who hear my word and obey it."
That is what is called obeying the gospel by believing the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Good News to man.
Believing is to obey, however, believing by itself and not put together with right action makes that believing dead.

James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
James 2:22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.

We drink the blood, the wine, and we have to eat food too!

You don't want to differentiate between eating and drinking?!

You think you are using the double edged sword dividing between bone and marrow?

It is by the grace of God we have been saved by believing in Jesus Christ therefore you limiting works to purification works is not the whole truth when you cannot do anything to earn that free gift of eternal life.
Nowhere anywhere do the scriptures say we only have to believe and not obey anything else, or that believing is the ONLY obedience we have to do, or that we don't have to believe that we have to obey Jesus and everything he says.

The scriptures say we have to believe Jesus' blood purifies us and no more by the blood of animals.

Indeed, our believing in Him is a work of the Father and so a miracle in reality in why we should take stock in His words that by believing His words which is by believing in Him is how we have eternal life. Amen.
You have people only drinking Jesus' blood...drinking wine...and not eating.
I hope you think about that more and get unensnared so that you will come to know the truth better.
Tell me, who but the devil would be for a believe and don't obey anything else doctrine?

What part of drinking the blood called water used to pour out ones Spirit life in jeaopry of His own Spirit. used to represnt God pouring out His Sp[irit life in jeaopory of his own Spirit .He is the Father of all spirit life .to include that which worked in the Son of man Jesus . It empowered Jesus to do the will of God just as us.

Go back and look at the parable .

What part of drinking the blood called water
The blood is not called water.

used to pour out ones Spirit life in jeaopry of His own Spirit. used to represnt God pouring out His Sp[irit life in jeaopory of his own Spirit .
It is something worth studying, because God says life is in the blood...but can you show where the Spirit is called blood?
He is the Father of all spirit life .to include that which worked in the Son of man Jesus . It empowered Jesus to do the will of God just as us.
Right, but you don't even believe we have our own spirit too. If I remember your beliefs...you say we don't have our own spirits, right?
Go back and look at the parable .
I studied what you said and you didn't really explain plainly.
You also did not say how you drink Jesus' blood and how you eat his flesh.
I want to hear your answer and you can back it up with scripture, but I want to hear it in your own words too.

Believing is not enough, so says Jesus. "Blessed rather are those who hear my word and obey it."

Believing is to obey, however,
There is no "however" when obeying is to believe Him and you quoting James is not applicable when James was talking about the church's abuse of verbalizing their faith in God to provide for the poor to get out of helping the poor that were about to perish from starvation & the elements, It was in the eyes of the poor that the church's faith in God to provide was dead for why the church's faith will not profit the poor nor save the poor that were about to perish. See?

John 6:53 . .Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of
Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.

The kind of life that Jesus spoke of in that passage is eternal life.

The verse below is deliberately misquoted for a purpose. Watch for the revision.

John 6:54 . . Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood obtains eternal life

The verse actually says "has" eternal life. In other words only folks who already
have eternal life can even begin to think about dining upon the Lord's flesh and
blood because his body doesn't dispense eternal life, rather, his body sustains it;
similar to how manna sustained the lives of Moses' people.

So then, folks lacking eternal life need not concern themselves with the meaning of
that section of the sixth chapter of John because they are quite dead on the hoof -
due to their lack of confidence in Jesus and his Father.

John 5:24 . . Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes in
Him who sent me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has
passed from death into life.

And another thing: the words Jesus spoke in that section of the sixth chapter of
John appear to be ordinary language at first glance, but Jesus claimed his words
were actually spirit: not spiritual, rather, spirit (John 6:63), which means the words
he spoke were sentient, i.e. living things. (Heb 4:12)

An excellent example of sentient living words is located at John 1:1-4.

One can say that we live by the words of God that by believing in Him is how we can know we have eternal life.

Matthew 4:4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Luke 4:4And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

John 6:62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

It is by believing His words about how we are saved by believing in Him is how every man has eternal life and lives by the Word of God in following Him for why it is written that the just shall live by faith in Him and all His words to us..

There is no "however" when obeying is to believe Him
How much clearer does it have to be? Blessed rather are those who hear and obey. NOT BLESSED too, or more blessed if you obey, Jesus SAYS blessed rather those who believe and obey.

and you quoting James is not applicable when James was talking about the church's abuse of verbalizing their faith in God to provide for the poor to get out of helping the poor that were about to perish from starvation & the elements,
James says faith alone DOES NOT SAVE.

You are blind or you are deliberately going against Jesus.

Luke 11:28 He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

No, you are teaching wrong.

You won't have eternal life if you don't first obey Jesus' words, and you won't receive the Holy Spirit.

John 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
So then, folks lacking eternal life need not concern themselves with the meaning of

You have to believe that you have to obey Jesus.

No such thing as Jesus teaching to obey him and then saying no only believe him.

One can say that we live by the words of God that by believing in Him is how we can know we have eternal life.

Matthew 4:4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

You preach against God and it won't go well for you now or later.

Isaiah 59:20 “The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins,” declares the Lord.

John 5:14 Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.”

Luke 24:47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Matthew 11:21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the miracles done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

Matthew 12:41 The people of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented when Jonah preached to them—and now, something greater than Jonah is here!

Nineveh repented of their SINS.

How much clearer does it have to be? Blessed rather are those who hear and obey. NOT BLESSED too, or more blessed if you obey, Jesus SAYS blessed rather those who believe and obey.
That latter part of your quote above is not what Jesus said per the scripture.
James says faith alone DOES NOT SAVE.
James says if you share your faith in God to provide with the poor, you better lead by example to the poor. James was never talking about the faith in Jesus Christ for salvation which is without works.
You are blind or you are deliberately going against Jesus.
Can we avoid the personal attack? If I am blind, how is that helping Him minister? It turns people off in any discussion.
Luke 11:28 He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."
Here is how I apply that verse above as hear the word of God and obeying it by believing His words that by believing in Him is how we are saved. Look at Paul's gospel one more time, but align verse 16 below with Luke 11:28 in quote.

Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Luke 11:28 He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

Adam's sin was unbelief in God and His words for why he hearkened unto the woman's word thus death by that sin is passed unto all men.

Therefore life is by believing God and His words that by believing in Him is how we are born again of the Spirit and have eternal life. THEN with Jesus Christ in us, we are discipled to look to Jesus Christ daily in laying aside every weight & sin in running that race in walking in the light in fellowship with the Father & the Son.

You had said that there were other sins later on in your life as a saved believer that you found out that you needed to be repented of. So I can acknowledge that you did not mean one had to repent from all sins first before coming to & believing in Jesus Christ but your wordings like insisting sinner has to die to the sins of the world is akin to dying to all sins first if you seriously consider the weight of your words. It's kind of like saying you did not say that about sinner had to die to all sins first before coming to & believing in Jesus Christ, but you keep circling back with those kinds of wordings that not just imply but plainly sate they have to repent from the sins of the world hence all sins first.. I mean really... aren't the sins of the world all sins? So it is conflicting in what you are meaning to say for why I keep seeing you circling back to that meaning that sinners had to repent from all sins first even though you deny saying it as meaning it in that way.

Perhaps if you said that the sinner should be willing to admit they are a sinner in need of the Saviour and so to repent of all the known sins that they know of or in their minds to repent of when coming to and believing in Jesus Christ so that He will deliver them from their sins to no longer live in them and not just give them eternal life.

Is that what you are meaning to say or am I still not getting what you are actually meaning right?

Somehow I do not believe that is what you really want to say as you seemingly place the emphasis on salvation on the sinner to repent from sins first if not all sins before coming to believe in Jesus Christ and if that be the meaning, then I have to disagree.... still because I know sinners tried to stop sinning on their own and cannot do it but if they believe Jesus will save them from their sins to sin no more with His help, then I can see them coming to Jesus to believe in Him to be saved... in more ways than one.
