May Jesus fill us with his love and wisdom

Welcome to Talk Jesus. Here you will meet people from a number of different philosophies. But all this is good as the core is all about Jesus who is the center of our lives

Welcome! I was educated Catholic too. In Romans 11 there is only one singular olive tree that supports all who are saved.

Now, at no time did I ask god to be his human ashtray, or to prove how weak I was and how strong he was.
May Jesus fill us with his love and wisdom

Just curious, why would you say that?

And could you enlighten someone like me to understand that better?

Our loving Father doesn't put challenges on our shoulders to burden us or to prove His might. He wants us to learn to lean on Him and trust Him and develop our relationship with Him.

To the point it wears your down and causes great grief? It seems like a twisted hobby for him. No thank you here.

Your reality and my reality of the lord are different. I know one thing, the lord arranges things in such a way that they are difficult to explain. His ways are very nuanced and clandestine. I have also found that there is no such thing as a coincidence and he knows what you are going to think at any precise time as he matches things up in coincidence. I don't believe in "Satan" so that only leaves the almighty one.

When I talk about accepting the fact that Satan is real, doesn't mean that I accept him as something that I want to receive. I don't.
Jesus stated that he saw Satan fall from Heaven. Jesus is acknowledging that Satan is real and that he has fallen, and is a fallen angel. We have to accept what Jesus said

I've been chronically ill for four presidential terms so I know about being worn down and to suffer loss. This is not our forever home, it's a training ground. The greatest man ever born of a woman wound up imprisoned and eventually beheaded. MT 11:11

Like navy seal training which is very tough for a reason, God prepares us for our forever home by placing obstacles that without relying on Him would be insurmountable. Yes satan exists and was created by God who allows him (for a time with restraints) to place obstacles in our path.

May this world's challenges/obstacles transform us into loving and compassionate believers in Jesus.

yin and yang, god and the devil are just the frame work of the person pulling the levers. Whatever it is.

Sorry to hear that you are ill, I don't wish that on anyone. It did come to mind that life as we know it is a training ground. Natively it is an extreme experience with a lot of heartache. I think things could of have been thought out a little less crudely.

So in your opinion, "Satan" provides counter balance when we reach success in life and experience joy? I totally get that inkling. What problem do you think god has with success and joy? A poster in another forum said that god's expectation with how we live life was to complete the sacraments, then move on to the priesthood.
