If Jesus Is Not God, Christianity Falls Apart

Before looking at the many passages of Scripture concerning the deity of Christ, I want to begin with ten simple logical arguments.

These are intended to demonstrate why the question of who Jesus is matters so profoundly. If Jesus is merely a created being rather than God, Christianity faces some enormous theological, logical and moral problems.

Here are ten reasons why I believe the biblical teaching that Jesus is Lord and truly God is not merely a theological detail, but fundamental to Christianity itself.

1. The justice problem: God would be unjust if He punished a separate being called “Jesus” for sins that Jesus did not commit. But Scripture clearly says of God, “just and right is he.” Deuteronomy 32:4.

2. The substitution problem: Why would God punish an innocent created being for the sins of guilty people? If Jesus is God who voluntarily took our punishment upon Himself, the moral problem disappears.

3. The worship problem: Christians worship Jesus. If Jesus is merely a created being, then Christianity is giving divine worship to a creature, which would itself be idolatry (Exodus 20:3–5).

4. The forgiveness problem: Jesus forgave sins (Mark 2:5). The people correctly recognised the question: “Who can forgive sins but God only?” (Mark 2:7). If Jesus is not God, why does He exercise God's authority to forgive sins?

5. The salvation problem: Scripture says, “Neither is there salvation in any other” (Acts 4:12). If Jesus is merely a creature, Christianity makes our eternal salvation dependent upon a creature.

6. The Lordship problem: Philippians 2:11 says “every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” Isaiah 45:23 says that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess to God. The New Testament applies this divine language to Jesus. Philippians 2:10–11 “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.

7. The Creator problem:
John 1:3 says, “All things were made by him.” If all created things were made through Christ, then Christ cannot simply be another created thing.

8. The fullness-of-God problem: Colossians 2:9 says, “in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” That is far more than saying Jesus was merely a prophet or exalted creature.

9. The Emmanuel problem: Matthew 1:23 calls Jesus “Emmanuel,” meaning “God with us.” If Jesus is not God, then the central meaning given to His incarnation becomes false.

10. The foundation problem: If Jesus is not God, then the entire biblical story comes into question. The Old Testament prophecies concerning the Messiah, the promises of salvation, the claims of Jesus, and the teaching of the apostles would all have to be fundamentally reinterpreted. Christianity is built upon Jesus being the promised Messiah, Lord and Saviour. If He is merely a created being, then the very foundation upon which the New Testament presents the fulfilment of Scripture is false.

For information purposes, these are ten of the most commonly cited passages supporting the Trinity.

1. Isaiah 9:6 — “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given... and his name shall be called... The mighty God, The everlasting Father...”
2. John 1:1 — “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
3. John 1:14 — “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us...”
4. John 20:28 — “And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.”
5. Titus 2:13 — “...the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”
6. Hebrews 1:8 — “But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever...”
7. Colossians 2:9 — “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”
8. Philippians 2:6 — “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God.”
9. Romans 9:5 — “...Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever.”
10. John 8:58 — “Before Abraham was, I am.

Ya believe the Messiah died for ya tho correct?
Death is separation from Abba..
Ya don't believe the Messiah was Abbas Son?
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Im just trying to figure out what you believe.. either one believe that the Son took on their Sins by death which is separating from our Father went into the depths of hell and the Father raised Him on the third day or one does not..
One believes the Father sat Him on the right Hand of the throne for being a good and faithful son or one does not..

Hope alls well

One God, three persons

The Trinity means one undivided God who eternally exists as three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

They share the exact same divine nature. They are not three gods, parts of God, or successive modes of God. Each is fully God, yet there is only one God.

How can one be three?
There is one what (the divine being) and three whos (the persons). The persons are distinguished by relationship, not by dividing the divine nature.

Simple illustrations (all imperfect):
  • A triangle: one shape, three distinct sides. Remove any side and it is no longer a triangle.
  • The sun, its light, and its heat: not three suns, yet real distinctions within one reality.
These show that “one essence, three persons” is not a contradiction, it is a richer unity than we are used to.

----------

The OP is intended to show those who do not believe this that their view is incompatible with Christianity. The first step in becoming a Christian is being given the revelation, faith, and ability to truly call Jesus Lord.

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth that Jesus is Lord, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

1 Cor 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son,

And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me

In order for something to be given someone has to give .
If no one gave it that be like those that say they believe nothing made a bang n it created something..

i just been posting..

You need to learn to read. You also fire your personal opinions and views before digesting the OP. This is why you do not believe in the trinity. You grasp A and B but ignore C and D. You need to be very careful of teaching and holding to half truths. This is what the devil wants per Matt 4.

Ya believe the Messiah died for ya tho correct?

Yes of course. My belief was made crystal clear in the OP and in my post 4 reply.

Ya don't believe the Messiah was Abbas Son?

Yes, Jesus is God the Son, per the reply given you in post 4 and the OP.

Im just trying to figure out what you believe.. either one believe that the Son took on their Sins by death which is separating from our Father went into the depths of hell and the Father raised Him on the third day or one does not..

As answered and explained in post 4, Jesus is a separate person and yet God.

One believes the Father sat Him on the right Hand of the throne for being a good and faithful son or one does not..

As explained to you in post 4 and the OP, whilst scripture does state that Jesus sits on the right hand of God and when on on earth He prayed to God the Father, scripture also teaches us that they are one divine nature. Three persons, one divinity.

Now, until you take a stab at the arguments raised in the OP, don't expect me to reply to you again here. You are trolling and creating rabbit trails.

Twistie, an answer doesn't get any less basic than giving you a yes and or a no. Which is what I have done.....

Please, before you reply, properly read a post.
