Y'all getting way to heated over this, I am going to say it one last time before I am done commenting on this thread, Jesus is the word of God as is explained in Revelation 19:13 and John 1:1-14. I believe that the Bible is inspired by God, and y'all can keep throwing scriptures at me that say "all scripture is God breathed" that just means inspired, the Bible is inspired by God. I'm not getting down on the scripture or saying that we can't trust what the Bible is saying, so please don't get it twisted. The men who wrote the books and epistles in the Bible were definitely inspired by God, but they are not Gods word, Jesus is. I am just your normal average everyday Christian; I am just trying to state a fact that we should not call the whole entire Bible the Word of God, because like it says, that is Jesus' title, not the Bibles. I believe what the Bible says, I believe that Moses led the Israelite's out of Egypt, I believe Noah built the arc, I am not arguing with the knowledge that is in the Bible, it is good and credible, the only thing I am saying is that we need to not call it the Word of God, because, again, that is Jesus' title.
I gave examples of Jesus questioning the infallibility of Moses, which are above if you guys would like to go back and look at them, and again me doing that is not trying to say that we can't trust Moses, and what he says, Moses brought the Ten Commandments down from the Mountain, I do not think he is in over his head, I think that we should take in what he says, just like we should anyone else, but we should also bring it right back down to the one who saves us, The Word of God, (Jesus). Jesus even says in the quote that I put above that Moses gave the law of divorcement to them, not God, for those who didn't look, In Matthew 19:3-8
3 "Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?" 4 "Haven't you read", He replied, "that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female, 5 and said 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? 6 So they are no longer two, but one. So therefore what God has joined together let no man separate." 7 "Why then," they asked, "did Moses command that a man may give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?" 8 Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning."
The point of me quoting this passage is to show you that not all things in the Bible are inspired by God, unless God just somehow changed his mind, but I don't see that happening because Jesus is the son of God and it says that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, Hebrews 13:8. If Jesus is the son of God then that would mean, to me at least; that God would be that way as well.
Again, all my intention was with this post was to just get people to start calling Jesus by his right name, not the Bible. I have no ill intent, just some thoughts.
Peace and Blessings, Lily
