Can someone plz explain what warfare means?

Then again, should one speculate with "Simple reasoning"? Or does that cause more problems?

Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord:.................. I have no problem with reasoning as the Lord has said we should reason together. All is not written, but enough
that we can make conclusions about certain problematic issues.

In my original response to Dave M I was offering a possibility as to what Jesus was referring to. For me The Father Is the God of Jesus, just as He is to Paul, Peter, David, you and I.
I offer:

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know THEE THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and Jesus Christ, whom THOU HAST SENT. Red letters
We see that Jesus Himself refers to the Father as the ONLY TRUE GOD, and that God had sent Him. Thus Jesus was not the true God. He is and was as He said "The Son of God."

John 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God.
So which is it? " I am" meaning Jesus was God. Or the Son who was not nor ever can be the the only TRUE GOD?

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,.............

1Pe 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ..........................

Mark 12:36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, sit thou on my right hand, till I(God) make thine(your) enemies thy footstool.
Psalms 110:1

In each case above it is made extremely clear that Paul, Peter, David and Jesus know that God is the God and Father of Jesus . Thus the I am we are discussing cannot be
proof that Jesus was saying He was the only true God in a parable.

Garee, are you using more than one login here?

Also... just how did this become a discussion on the Trinity? That hadn't been part of the discussion. (At least not any discussion I had been part of.)

Can't go wrong there.

I was simply showing you how reasoning with the Father will lead one to the truth. I chose that particular subject because it is a controversial subject.
My offer was verses of various witnesses to the truth, and more than 2.

And no I am not Garee.

The BEST examples were given by our Lord in Matthew 4:1-2, Mark 1:12 -13, Luke 4:1-2. The devil's tools are: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (1st John 2:15-16). The Tempter seeks to steal, kill, and destroy all that GOD loves and/or gets them to turn away from Him and bow to him. The devil is limited to our fleshly desires Galations 5:17. But, we, the Regenerated Ones have been empowered by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. As we mature into our completely surrendering to Christ living and working through us; the devil seeks to use those same devices on us. Spiritual warfare is to let GOD'S WORD have the FINAL authority in ALL areas and decisions of your life. Dying daily (1st Corinthians 15:31) is a battle that we do to model Paul. We must fight the temporary to obtain the prize of the eternal. Yes, we are saved by grace but we must FIGHT our flesh while we mature in our walk by feeding on the sincere milk of GOD's WORD and leading us to faith in Christ as well.

Why do you say that the devil is limited to our fleshly desires? You quoted Galatians 5:17 to back that but Galatians 5:17 does not say that at all...When the devil puts sickness on a person, are you saying they want it? Other than that one point I do agree with you. Can you find another verse to back that statement?

Galatians 5:17
17 For the old nature wants what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit wants what is contrary to the old nature. These oppose each other, so that you find yourselves unable to carry out your good intentions.

Well Essentially you're right....in that that is how Satan leads you into sin....But Satan also steals kills and destroys and that is not because people want that. So......?

It is not a question of what people 'want" that determines the level of interaction with Satan's with us - it is the truth of whether or not you are in right standing with Almighty GOD. While Noah was building the Ark, people did not want to believe that GOD was about to judge the whole world. Those on the Ark were saved. Those who chose not to believe....
We ALL must choose as to whether or not to believe in GOD's salvation plan or not. There is a reason that there is one in place.

So quoting of scripture using many witnesses, including Jesus Himself, to the same fact is "GARBAGE IN GARBAGE OUT????"
Not what I said. I must then conclude that the reasoning processes by which you arrived at that conclusion are faulty... ( i.e. ya got a bit of GIGO going on there, bud.)

Rhema

(And to clarify, such GIGO has nothing to do with any "Trinity" in that this was not what you and I were discussing.)
